Ok, heres the thing, when I am parked with the car running at idle and I depress the clutch the car starts making this rattling noise that comes from the engine, its not too noticeable but noticeable enough. The thing is that as soon as you push the clutch back in, the noise is gone. I think its just something loose in my clutch assembly, but I also recall someone saying something about it being the throwout bearing if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, I'm taking my car in to get it checked out before my warranty runs out but if anyone know anything about it please let me know so at least I know what it is.

Thanks

Something might have been worded wrong, but if you get a squeaking noise when the clutch pedal is being held down with your foot, it may be your throw out bearing.

If you have warranty, I'd have the dealer check it over.

I noticed a rattling chirping type of noise on my car after I was at this long country road. I probably launched the car 5 or 6 times at 4000 rpms. Heard the noise when I got home. Kind of freaked me out so I took it to the dealer but they could not duplicate the sound even when they ran it in idle for 30 mins. I talked with the team leader and shop foreman and they explained that if the problem was the throwout bearing, it was not that big of a deal. It would not hurt the engine or performance but just annoy the hell out of you with it's sound. I was lucky enough to have the noise go away on its own (dunno how though). I didn't do anything special but just stop peeling out. I still drive it hard, just don't peel it out. I can't really help you much since I never got the car serviced to be able to give details. But Clone GTS is right, you should get it checked out by the dealer if it really concerns you. BTW don't worry about your CAI. I had mine on as well as my exhaust when I took it to the dealer. These don't affect the tranny whatsoever. Good luck and also thanx for reassuring me of the humming noise with my CAI

This exact thing happened to me. I first heard the sound at about 8000 kms, but it was quiet enough that it could have been there earlier and I wouldn't have noticed it.

The dealer heard the sound and decided to replace the release bearing, the clutch and the pressure plate. I picked up my car after they did this and it made the SAME NOISE! When I brought it back we tried a brand new GT-S six speed and it made the same noise, so they told me it was normal and that I didn't need to worry about it. Since then, I've driven another six speed GT-S and it makes that noise too, so I think they were right. If your dealer can solve this problem, let me know, but I wouldn't worry about it. Keep in mind that if your car had a lot of sound insulation, you'd never hear a noise like that.
