depends on the state, as for WI I dunno, but VA you can go 35% all around, but they also state that the back window can be "blocked" as long as you have side mirrors...but VA laws suck so we wont get into that.

In Tn, the legal limit is 35% for passenger cars.

You guys are lucky! Here in Pa, we can only have 70% for the sides, but the back window can be anything..

this website lists the tint laws for each state: http://www.gilafilms.com/Customcut/tintlaws.html

i live in illinois where you can't have any tint on the front side windows. i was gonna get my windows tinted, but i think it looks kinda ghey to have all your windows tinted except the front side ones.

Actually, PennDOT words it wierd. It written the opposite of common tinting talk. It worded as up to 70% of the sunlight can be filtered, basically a 30% tint is the max legal, by the book.

20% is the real threshold limit.

without getting pulled over in NJ, 50% front (pushing it) and 35% rear, even though no tint is allowed on the front windows in NJ. With a black interior, the tint looks darker than it it.
