Just got back from JGTC and damn am i exhausted. Well worth my weekend and $50! Got to high-five the man himself, Keiichi Tsuchiya and came face to face with Osami Amemiya! The JGTC cars are insanely face.. not to mention that most of the cars will make your ears bleed. I'm still speakless after those two days.

Yea went to Sat only but it was worth it. Those cars had my ears ringing especially near the hairpins after they enter the infield and into the short straight. Its also an experience to watch a race @ night. I loved it when they braked hard at the end of a straight and their ceramic brakes would glow orange and their exhaust would spit flames out from the carbon buildup when they shifted. Best thing we did was to just walk around and take in the race around the track and get up close to the fence. I was able to get up close to the Autobaccs Garaiya car while they were pushing it along the public road towards the pit.

Hopefully I can post some pics up soon. I hope they will come back again next year or even better if this becomes sucessful maybe German Touring, BTCC or Aussie V8s would come here. How was the racing on sunday for those who went Sunday?

That was really fun and interactive. I got to do everything- the autocross, the NASA ride-along, everything. I love how your single pass allows you access to everything too. I was sitting behind the pits during the race and was even standing on turn 1 of the oval after the race. I even got to go into some of the garages to take pics.

Really??? From what I read from UCI board they had a caravan going to this on Saturday, they all said it sucked and there were 12 tickets on sale for Sunday's event.... 4 for $20 was 1 of the offer and nobody took it because they all posted that it sucked :(
I don't see how anyone would hate this event, especially when they are suppose to be import enthusiest (sp?) Maybe they were hoping to see drift type event than an actual racing event :chuckles:

Just stuck my hand out as he ran by me. I sat like 50ft away from the D1 Judging stand.. got it on camera too :gap: I wanted to get Osami Amemiya's autograph but he seemed to run away from us. I guess we creeped him out cuz following him around...
Dude, Rhys Millen got sooo f**king good and yea, i loved watching the brake rotors GLOW as they came outta the short straight. ooo... the falken EF civic was :lame:
Hey TaeMachine, which car did you ride in? I didn't get a chance to ride shotgun (wanted to though) in the Lotus 340R. that thing was sweet.

RX7 TT. We almost lost it going deep trying to pass a 330i ZHP, but that RX7 can really pull hard.

I went on Sat. and part of Sun. We left around 2:30 on Sunday because we didn't want to get caught in the fog on the way back. I didn't really want to go because it was far and I thought it would be like all the other recent car events, but it was awesome!

Did they do the ride along on the full road course or the short course? Its a trip going down the banks of an oval. I was able to do a ride along for the Marlboro hot laps and got to ride in an IROC around the whole oval and that was just an awesome feeling

We did the short course that turned right, towards the back instead of towards turn 4 of the oval. It's really a trip being a passenger, and not being in control of the car, while trying to outbrake cars a few feet in front of you.

THe weds celica and the cusco wrx was the quietest of them all JGTC cars. That orange DAHJIN 350Z almost made my ear bleed.

D1 was fun too. American drifters are getting better. Rhys and Chris Fosberg(sp?) did very well.

I'll try to upload some pics in a little bit, i have to resize it.

LOL! yea no kidding. i tried to get ear plugs on sunday but couldnt find them soon enough, so i just used my fingers. The Viper wasn't that bad either, it was bearable. I think both the Wedsport Celica and Cusco Impreza would've been able to pass for a street-able car (exhaust decibel wise).
Damn Rhys got REALLY good... just as I predicted too. But i think he had an edge over most of the other drivers. since he has a rally background, he's probably use to the uneven tarmac. Chris was crazy... but i cant imagine how much pressure the Japanese D1 drivers put on them. A toast to the USD1 drivers. Next year.... next year
