Turbo on an celica, you must be mistaken for a civic.

Are you getting a custom set-up? And how much is it costing you?
I would like to turbo my lil GT auto as well, hehe :D

GT has a 10:1 ratio stock right? If so I would stick in something like 8.5psi of boost. That'll give you an effective ratio of 15.78:1, which is near the stock WRX ratio of 15.89. I don't know what your HP will be, but it will probably surpass the WRX's 227 easily because of the VVT. Now, I don't know what the internals of the 1ZZ are, so I am not sure if it has been over built. One thing I do know about both engines is that both seem to have piston rods which are not the strongest in the world, so make sure you find out as much as you can about that before you go ahead and boost the sucker.
Email celicauk and find out what kind of internal work he had done to prep his engine for the s/c. I know he has lower comp forged pistons, but I don't know if he replaced anything else internally.

Yes, it is 10:1. Thanks for the input Da Kine Guy, I will look into the pistons issue :D I love learning new stuff about my car...

An intercooled 8.5psi on the 130hp zz1 will net you around 185hp.
Here's a foumula to give you a ballpark:
(14.7+Boost)*.9 / 14.7 * HP
The .9 is in there because you never hit 100% charge density unless you can cool the compressed air to below ambient. If you change your compression ratio this function won't work.

i heard on STOCK celi's you can only run what was it, 6 psi and you dont need a Boost controller...
If you run on any higher psi you'll blow the head gaskets... with aftermarket head gaskets you can use a B/C to adjust the psi to your preference

xanatos car is running great, the automatic is not holding up good...but he is in the process of getting a manual transmision, he has been abusing that car for some time now at 10 psi without any problerms...also he is getting a haltech installed on the car...as we speak....

that i know off, he hasnt gone, cause the only time we were going, the regulator was acting funney, so we ended up, doing nothing....from that point on, he has been on the lookout for a manual tranny...and the haltech thingie....which he is working on right now...he upgraded the injector from the gts ones to the ones bottle sells...the 550cc ones???i guess i dunno??
