oh man, that sucks. :wtc:
Joe you bent a rim? :wtc:

This is why i'm always debating wether I should get expensive wheels or not. It's so hard to keep them in good shape. I bent one of my rims too.

damn theres gotta be someplace in the area that fixes them

evil eye

Haha, yeah i posted that on New Year's. :chuckles:

I didn't bend the Volks. One of them was bent by the previous owner. It's a very minor bend that can only be seen when you're looking at the wheel up close. It didn't even vibrate when driving. But when i get them powdercoated I want them to look perfect. So yeah, I need a place that can straighten it out.

My old set of wheels had a dent in them and everytime the wheel revolved the car would shake...the god damn steering wheel would go nuts the whole time i was driving...thank god i took those wheels off

Wow, great link. I think I'm gonna do this and have my wheels powdercoated at the same time. Shipping is gonna be a pain though. At least they're not far from NY.

be sure they can match the color of your rim. I went to a rim repair shop who is noted for good work this weekend. I have the Axis Hagens in the silver/gunmetal color and he said he couldn't match the finish. Now i'm left buying a brand new $350 rim....:(

Yeah your rims are a unique color, I see why they couldn't color match it. I'm not so worried though since I plan to have them powdercoated after they fix it.

Thanks again Andre. :)

If the look silver why didnt you have them do it that way than?

JCelica132
01-04-2005, 09:22 AM
because he said he couldn't match the silver color, and I wasn't about to spend $100+ for me to have 3 rims look the same, and one be off-colored.

Your rims aren't just silver. My winter rims are silver, the same silver that's on the factory GT/GTS rims. Your rims are like a polished silver. But it's not polished. I cant describe it, but they have a luster to them. The kind of luster that plain old silver can't reproduce.

Damn, I wish I had that option. But my rim costs about $500 new, and the color I have it in is hard to come by. :sadpace: I have no choice but to repair and repaint.

Jesus, you have 6!? Did you buy Eric's two that he had for sale? And how the hell did you damage your four new ones already?! Dayam. Give me your rims, you are obviously not worthy. :chuckles:

For all four rims? Is that including shipping, or did you drop them off and pick them up?

I bought them used fool :) They might need to be re-balanced without tires and I have Erics 2 wheels.

I cant quote prices but it depends on what is wrong with the wheel. Its like 70-90 for bends and stuff I think. Call them then and get a quote.

Ahh ok you're forgiven then. :D

One of my Volks has a bend in it, created by the previous owner of them. The bend is so small that I'm hoping it won't be too much. Thanks for that info Slava.

Yeah I know, I remember when he posted them on ebay. The bends are tiny, look just like the one on my TE's.
