front camber plates what the hell do these do............and why do u need them

They allow you to easily adjust the front camber.

You would use them to either correct the camber after lowering (not that you need it for that) or introduce more negative camber to aid in cornering.

You can do the same thing with the Toyota crash bolts, but the crash bolts are not as easy to adjust.

No time on my end to get into the theory behind body roll camber gain, etc.

They go at the top of the strut, typically using the 3 bolt holes at the top of the strut tower.

You pop the hood, loosen several set screws, adjust the camber to the desired angle, tighten the set screws, close the hood.

Many of the plates allow fore-aft movement as well so you can change the caster settings in addition to the camber.

Of course the toe-in just changed as well, but all of these things would be done at an alignment shop.
