I recently got in a car accident and it was determined to be the fault of the other owner. For those of you who were unfortunate enough to have similar experiences, is there a way you can make sure the insurance company pays for the use of OEM parts and not some cheap aftermarket brand?

You tell your insurance company you want Toyota parts and check the parts after they're installed.

some aftermarket stuff will be better then OEM and cheaper then OEM

tell them to give you the money for the parts, labor, shipping etc etc etc.

Then get aftermarket stuff and save yourself some money and have more money for mods

I know when I wrecked my celica, I busted both foglights. They are like 330$ each from toyota, I got them from a friend for 50$ and saved the rest of the money.

The hood is the same way, you could get a cf hood instead of OEM, unless you want all your OEM parts...

take the money and look on the for sale threads for the stuff from ppl parting their car out. Worth a shot, and you'll save some money. Unless you desperatly need brand new OEM stuff on ur car.
