Okay, so here I am on Culver at Alton with my friend when I hear a lot of back-and-forth shouting behind me. The drivers of a late-80s Honda Civic hatchback (with a farting exhaust tip, Chinese characters (white driver!), and an ugly bodykit that didn't match the paint) and a '99-2000 Civic DX (also with an exhaust tip and a "Powered by Honda" sticker across his windshield) were challenging each other. The hatchback was behind me and revving his engine. Light turns green and they don't even floor it...they just proceed as normal...then suddenly the hatchback floors it and goes around me...the other Honda speeds up and starts playing traffic tag. I'm playing it cool and letting them do their own thing...and getting a kick out of it. Then we come up to Barranca. The hatchback scoots back over to the middle lane. Now all three of us line up. The hatchback revved his engine again and kept trying to get me and my friend's attention. We both ignored him. Light turned green and both of them really took off...yeah right...I guess those stickers must've added a lot of weight because they sure weren't flooring it (of course their mufflers were both farting). I decided to blow past both of them. The hatchback driver got pissed because he got behind me and then pulled back into the middle lane when we approached Warner. The hatchback revved again. But the funny part was that he wasn't lined up...he was inched back a little bit as if he was scared to line up. Light turned green, and I played it cool. So did the other Honda. The hatchback slightly jackrabbited, then decided to floor it and pass me...I guess he wanted to show me his taillights. The funniest part was that he flashed his hazards!!! Me and my friend got a good laugh out of that. He actually thought it was a kill for him! When I caught up to him at Deerfield, I really wanted to put him in his place, but he chickened out and turned. BTW the other Honda already turned on Irvine Center Dr.

Why is that ricers like to play traffic tag and only race while moving? Yet they chicken out when challenged to a real race from a stop.

hahaa nice, but racing in that part of Irvine is like suicide, way too many cops over there. But there are some nice straights. Have you ever gone down Jamboree towards PCH and exited on Warner? After that on-ramp you are greeted by the two best turns ever created. You should try it sometime.

Because most people can't launch there cars. That's why they like going from a roll.. Take Supra drivers for instance :)

Haha, just wait until you encounter a Magenta Red DX with 13's and an engine that's fast than the Celica. B20 VTEC. My old Civic passed down to my brother. He has a Red DOHC Sticker, aftermarket sticker, not the wannabe real Honda DOHC Sticker. So you can laugh all you want, I helped him built this engine. He built it so he can whoop my ass. He sure did. lol. Damn those 2.0 Liter VTEC. Just watch out for those DX, except the new one, like 96 + and 90 and below. Those are harder to do a hybrid on, or should I say, rare.
