Just curious...
...Has anyone installed a GPS system in their Celica?
Also, anyone know how much these things run for?
Thanks.

I have a computer installed in the hatch and I already had a Garmin EMap. So I just bought MS Streets & Trips, installed it, connected the EMap to the serial port and I was done. Technically, it didn't cost me a thing cause I had a mail-in rebate for the full price of MS S&T.

Along these lines, I've been wondering if the optional system in the matrix would be plug and play in the Celica or not (I am hoping so).
Seems like a very clean solution to my inability to find my way.

Do you have any pics of this setup? I'd really like to see how you mounted the display for the computer.

This was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it in the Matrix. My only question is though, what would you do for a radio, or does the GPS double as a radio too? I couldn't really tell.

I also had this in mind, yes the Matrix's is a DVD-based Navigation System with built in radio. So it is an all-in-one unit which to me seems like the best way to go. I contacted my Toyota dealer for the price about a month ago and he said they didnt have the Matrix's part software on yet but he said it is much more expensive if you buy it separate, keep in mind it is a $1500-$2000 option which is not bad, but chances are it will be a lot more expensive for us.

yeah it'll be going for something like 3K... remember that when the company puts it in they save on having to put in your stock 3 in 1... which means you have to at least add the cost of that into your figure.

It's ghetto looking though so I'm going to change the setup. I just need to find an affordable >10" VGA screen first.
