Specifically the ford focus. Two concerns were with the airbags deploying for no reason and deploying when not nessasary. Another was a concern with engine fires starting after long term engine use and or spirited driving. And the last concern was about bearings that could cause wheels to fall off. Ford has acknowledge these problems and hasn't denied that they knew of them. they claim it isnt a quality issue but more of a bad batch of cars. As far as DoD IS concerned this problem can be brought to the light of the general public quicker than they want if terms are not met. NOTE: THE FORD FOCUS IS ONE OF THE MANY GOV's PURCHASED BY THE MILITARY FOR ITS SOLDIERS. As my job allowed me access to the info it was only for a brief min, I just thank God that i haven't killed myself in a focus, because i usually drive the hell out of the one in my unit as every soldier knows what im talking about:naughty:
anyway just general info for those that have a focus as a company car or drive one or was thinking about getting one

Their main reason should have been for it's slowness and uglyness

actually its a pretty fun car to drive, even foe a auto. It really does well in the curves and when pushed seems to like it.
Im surprise there aren't that many responses. oh well.

Most of us don't drive a Focus. And Ford and poor quality in the same sentence is not news to most of us either.

Its not the dept. of defense. What do they have to do with consumer vehicles. It the federal govt itself looking into this. I posted the story in another thread as well.

before throwing stones(not intended at you jason) let us all remember Mitsubishi's little scandal a couple years back and so on. I'd venture to say that no automaker is ever innocent of things like these..but since we're in the USA and have the media outlet that we do, Ford, GM, etc. are going to be under more of a microscope.
This is definitely somethign that Ford did not need to occur right now with the fiascos going on with their overall economic state, but i guess when it rains, it pours. I'm stil confident in them though, and as long as Ford has the highest return customer rate out there, I'm sure it'll improve. MY suspicion is that almost all of these problems occured under Nasser and he kept thm swept under a rug while he kept axing more and more jobs, part costs, etc.
