The Meguiar's #6 is a good polish to use. That's what I use on my baby and it shines like no tomorrow. Also if you want another good brand, use Zainos. It's not as expensive as people make it out to be. All you need is some Z1 and Z2 to start out.

No matter how often you wash your car you still should clay bar ($12-17) it once or twice a year to remove contaminants from the paint before polishing/waxing. If you are looking to stay basic with over the counter products just get all 3 steps of the same brand ($5-8). Both Mothers and Meguiars have these systems and they are labeled 1,2,3. If your local shop is out of one # that you want to use an you can't wait just substitute the same # of the other brand.

The use of the cleaner wax (step 1) has nothing to do with eliminating swirl marks. This is a whole new topic. Use the search to look for "swirl marks," there is a lot of info posted already.

I haven't tried Zymol. Zaino is a whole different animal, but people rave over it. Check out www.zainobros.com for more info.
