saw a new si today

today i went and looked at the 02 si, i have to say that it looks pretty phat lookin,lowered anyway. i love the swade seats, and the clutch is the best part, very short. it does look a bit awkward but i'm shure i will get used to seeing them around. the stick is a lil to high but it shifts very nice. the price was 19400 after taxes. i am thinking about perchasing one.

Dude i saw one the other day in that mustard-urine color and it friggin looked like crap. It's like one of the most unattractive looking new cars to me. But thats just my opinion :P And for 19.5 K you could get a whole lot more. I got my GTS brand new for 20!

It's worth holding judgement until you see the thing in person. I thought it was a joke from pictures I saw, but I stopped by a dealership to take a look, and... I love it. Really, really love it. Nice black thing, just sitting there - lower, sleeker, longer than a GTI. Made me want one.

For the price, I don't think it delivers on performance right now, but it's a great looking car.

Yeah I saw a black one on Monday, I couldn't believe my eyes...I was like WTF???? So I pulled up on the side and saw the "i-vtech DOCH" sticker at the bottom like they are on the 99-00 models. i pulled up further so i could see the front YUCK! man the car is very ugly!!!! Just my opinion, I didn't like the celica when it first came out, it grew on me :)

Either way you gotta know it will have(parts wise) what we have in a matter of weeks :( They should've just kept the 99-00 Si going....almost bought one then too! :)

i started up and revved the new si...felt like it could be a quick little car...revs fast , love the seets...sweet shifter. didnt drive it tho.

now if it wasnt so goddamn ugly or if it came in the coups bodystyle it would be badass

the type R looks sooo incredibly nice.... i watched the video on edmunds.com on the type R civic.... and i wanted one so bad. this was before i even considered getting a celica. the lights looked really nice.... and then i saw the Si and i was disappointed. strange how little it's changed, but it looks like a world of difference...... Si looks like a potato, type R looks like a mean machine...... but theres not all that much of a difference....

as for the coupe's body with the i-VTEC engine.... to tell the truth i'd rather have potato than the civic now..... civic's gone the way of the corolla, IMO..... looks more of a girl car than a guy car.... type R tops it all though.... heard rumors of it coming stateside, but i guess they just rumors :o

Well, the type r is still just a civic si with a body kit to me. I still don't like the look of it but I'm sure in a few months it'll grow on me. I remember when i first saw the new civic... I hated it, now i think it's okies. I remember when the rsx was first posted on this site for the first time, I thought it was UGLY, I don't think it's ugly now but I still wouldn't call it a pretty or nice looking car.

well i don't think it's that ugly cus i have seen the new si lowered, looks pretty phat lowered. i opened up the hood and to my suprise there was plenty and i mean plenty of turbo room in that car. allthough there is basicaly no room that i saw for a cai. the clutch is what really got me on that car, i loved it, very short.the only thing i have to complain about, besides it rides too damn high, is the skiny ass tires and wheels they put on it.....

I was talking to the local Honda dealer about possible options for the future. I mentioned I was interested in the Si, SVT Focus and WRX. He said: "The Si and SVT are equivalent, but I'd go straight to the WRX" Not what you expect the HONDA dealer to say!!

ok well today i test drove the si....i have to say that it screams...don't go much of anywere past 1st, but it is very loud.the shifter took about 1 minutes to get used to, but when i got used to it it was very very nice. 1st gear comes at you very quik for some reason.clutch is just right in that car.. once you look at the si for about 5 days in a row it kinda looks cool after a while.imo...seats are very comfy all the way around. steering wheel is very nice and small, evrything is in a good spot, the suspension is realy nice on that car..feels really solid for a civic, i don't think it feels as tinny as the older si, maby becuase it has am extra 300 lbs, but all in all it is very nice, i'm getin it, sory all you toyota people i'm a trader..i went to the dark side. :)

01-02 Si's also have 7 less hp than the 2000's. If I were ever in a desperate situation and had to get an Si, I'd get a used 2000. They're just better cars than the new ones.

huh? First there was no si in 01. The 99-00 si's had 160hp just like the new one the biggest difference is the torque. The old one has 111lb/ft the new one i think has like 120-somthing. But it also weighs more then the old one even though. Also it's a smoother, torquier i-vtec, not like the former b16 with a redlined 8k. But it is slower then the old ones(based on magazine test, not my actual experience).

when i test drove the car the torque was very noticable in 1st gear. car kinda seems to die out in the top of 2nd, didn't push all of 3rd but i would amagine it's still not as fancy as 1st is..i think the car has some good pontentiol..they had 5 of them at the dealership. i think that they won't be sellin much of then just cus of the bad rep ther gettin so far, plus when you fist see it, it is pretty fugly. but by now i like it and i will be the only one in my area driving the new si, and beatin some toyota ass..jk. well not yet wait till i get some mods..muaa aaaa aaaaaa(evil voice)
