Hello folks,
I was reading the new "Hot Imports" magazine and there was a modded Pontiac Vibe GT in there and when I saw the engine block, it clearly said on it VVTL-I
Is there something up here? Or is that an engine that has been manufactured by them based on the Toyota engine??? Anyone know?
Hard to imagine a Vibe with lift!!!!

The Vibe is made by toyota, reskinned by Pontiac. It is basically a Matrix in disguise. Only cheaper.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken Yamaha only designed the head and helped co-design the engine. I believe the 1ZZ and 2ZZ are both manufactured by Toyota. Yamaha just aided in the design becuase they are part owned by Toyota.

i think the vibe and matrix having the engine is a bonus for us the more vehicles with it the more chances of good aftermarket parts coming out for the engine

Chevys WERE sold as Toyotas for a few years. After something like 3000 sales over 4 years, the Toyota CAVALIER was discontinued.
Wonder why......

don't they have TRD parts for cavaliers? I think they have at least a bodykit for them.
