So we are having our second club autocross this weekend, and it is also the North Carolina Autocross Championship event #1.

Here's the current entry list...

I expect a 45-50 second course just because of the number of cars, otherwise it might be longer.

DS is shaping up to be a dull class with just one WRX and my wife and I. If the surface remains gritty I know where I'll be putting my money. I got clobbered last event by the WRX anyhow.

GS on the otherhand is looking to be pretty good.

We have a Celica GT, a CRX, a new Tiburon, an old Integra (possibly).

This class could go about any direction, my money is on Jon Krolewicz becaue he has the track record of wins, and also gets a fair bit of coaching from Rob Carpenter (AFAIK).

The Tiburon driver has been beating up on folks in his club as well. We have one of our local street tire class hot-shoes making the jump to stickies in his Integra, so that could be interesting as well.

Last, but not least, we can't leave out Charles and Donna, they've been getting a lot of seat time in the new Celica, so it will be fun to watch.

Dang, I thought this was going to be a thread about the Houston Tour... :)

Anyone going? I'll be there in a Corvette (not mine), running BSP.

Good luck this weekend, Scott, Chuck, Donna, and everyone else running locally!

Yep, we're looking forward to it! Weather looks promising, event chairs promise a clean course. We're gonna be trying to repeat our 1,2 finish at VMP two weeks ago.

I've got $50 saying that the Celica 1,2 finish doesn't repeat this weekend. Donna's registered in ladies! I'd even go as far as saying that the Hyundai lays some smackdown to a Celica this weekend though. Krowlewicz should win fairly easy, but I feel the Hyundai might take the 2nd spot. The guy has been eating up the competition, especially on courses needing low end torque. I saw one for the first time this past Sunday (new body style) and I have to admit it looked pretty tough. Dual exhaust was a nice touch...

Just looking at the entry list again, I forgot a few folks! We also have a GTI VR6 (experienced autocrosser), and a Neon (another great driver) playing in GS.

I wish I had a GS car, it'd be more fun running against all that competition! Wait, I do have a GS car, only it's classed in DS.

Donna's registered in Ladies for NCAC points, but as the only GSL she'll be bumped to GS. Scott, Mary is misclassed she will also be in GS unless that's the Neon you were refering to???
Krowlewicz should be a good gauge of how we stand at this point, looking forward to the competition.

Yeah, Mary will be in GS. She's swamped at work right now and probably hasn't even noticed she is in DS. I plan to fix all those little things on Saturday - GS cars into GS, all the "BS" Miata's will get moved to CS, etc.
