Ok. I just got a SF turbo kit a couple weeks ago, but no fuel rail. I have been searching this and looking things over, and I have found that the stock fuel rail could be moddified fairly easily to make it a center feed rail. However, I was browsing through atpturbo.com and I ran across this.

They sell this alluminum fuel rail bar stock by the foot. My question is what whould need to be done to make this work. I know that it would need to be drilled and tapped for the center feed, the ends capped, and mounting brackets, but what about the injectors? If my memory serves me, the stock injectors just plug directly into the stock fuel rail...is this correct? If that is the case, would you just need to drill the propper size holes for the injectors to push into or what? Does anybody have any specs on this? My thinking is that for the small cost of the fuel rail bar stock, that it might be a better option than modifying my stock fuel rail. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Yes but we are talking like $150 to get the GB fuel rail. Check this (http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ATP-FUL-010&Category_Code=FUL) out. It would be a very inexpensive way to get a good fuel rail if all you had to do was drill a couple holes and make some brackets.

Edit: How long is the stock fuel rail? I would only need one foot right?

Matt,
That almost looks like the material Stafford uses. Well, there you go. My .02. Didn't help you one bit :D

After looking around that site I noticed that they carry ALOT of the little "odds and ends" in Staffords kit. Even down to the Hobb's pressure switch for the alky injection. I am wondering if he was just buying this bar stock, slapping some brackets on it, drilling the top, and milling "SF" into it. For as cheap as that stuff is, I can't imagine that he could mill it himself for any less than they are selling it. I will continue to look into it. Anyone know what would be required for the injectors to hook up? Thanks.

if you succesfully pull this off, and it works since it juts look like sf's, i will purchase it from you too. I am also sure a lot of people will. 150 is to much for a fuel rail. imo

just so you know your going to pay a machinest about 110-120 to just drill those holes and tap and put on the brakets+ the 10 for the stock+shipping. These things have to be precise.

I hear you can make over 400whp on the stock fuel rail :)

so are you saying an aftermarket fuel rail is a waste?

that may be, but you cant expand your fuel system with a stock fuel rail.

Expand? Please explain.

We normally just tap near the end of the fuel line for nitrous or a fuel pressure gauge.

that may be, but you cant expand your fuel system with a stock fuel rail. See above....if that is the case I believe that the stock fuel rail can be tapped in the center for a center feed and the origional fuel in line can be used for a return.

expand as in making a return line for full fuel presure adjustment capabilities.

it depends on the size line that you are running if you use a -8 line like on our last build and try to use the stock as a return, it will create to much presure
