View Full Version : What do you think? *Chop*
Well, come spring i will be painting my car and adding a set of wheels to the list... here i have a chop of my car in a darker gunmetal color (ie is300 grey) and a set of Axis Reverbs that are gloss black... so what do you think? anything you would do different? gunmetal instead of black? I dunno i just whipped this image up in 15 min to see what it could look like although in person i know it could look totally differnent... http://www.newcelica.org/photopost/data/500/7003gunmetal-med.jpg

Looks good but I would like to see the car in pearl white or some kind of custom color. I mean the IS300 grey is very nice but it is starting to look to common now. Then again the chop looks very nice.

ive seen your sig before just wasnt paying attention i guess... are those 17 or 18 btw? wow the paint does show more contrast in sunlight than I thought... do you have an image gallery that i can take a look at?

Your chop is a close match to my mom's 04 Corolla. Forgot the name but it's a metallic gray color. In sunlight it has a brownish hue to it, while the IS300 gray shows up silverish in sunlight.

G-Games look simliar to the wheels you chopped in, only they would look a lot better than those wheels in the chop.
Ro_Ja Forumla 5's are nice too.

honestly, if i had that color (which i love), id get the work emotions(sp) probably in 18'' and in bronze. bronze rims on graphite car looks very nice imo.

:werd: That's a good choice too.
next thing i gotta figure out is if this car is gonna be quick or more for looks... because 18" anything will slow me down on the street correct? maybe ill just go with some 17" fn01-rc although i am partial to the black/gunmetal w polished lip... not too concerned about the track because i probobly make only 1 trip a year in which case i would throw on my stock wheels, just concerned about street... i dont want to start having trouble with cars i should be faster than...

g-games are nice but getting pretty trendy on the board... formula 5's are nice as well but too expensive for how heavy they are... arent they like 25+ lbs

Nope, they aren't heavy well it depends on what size you go. They are however forged which is def. a plus! Weights are as follows:
Roja Formula 5
17X7"=14.5 pounds
18X7"= 18 pounds
18X8"=19 pounds
18X9"=20 pounds
19X8"=22 pounds
19X9"= 24 pounds
Those are the exact measurements of the Roja Formula 5's!

one of my crew has 18x7.5 work emotins on his dc5, rims are very light, believe they come in at 17 or 18lbs.
i dont know... i cant justify putting 400$ wheels on a celi...

i know what you mean, it really is a big investment. best thing to do is to shop around and just pick something that you really like, something you'll be happy with and just buy it once. dont settle for something cheaper which you might get bored of in a year or two...trust me, i learned the hard way.

some konig troubles would look sick on that car....

Never settle for a rim because it is in your budget. You will get sick of it in a year or less. Save up for what you really want, you will be happy in the long run. :)

yeah.....BUT think about ur driving style too, I've curbed 2, so it makes me very happy that about the EXCELS over the racing Harts.......however i'm going with some 17's as opposed to my 18s in the 5 zigen.

haha nice advice... btw did you feel a big difference in your speed with your 18's? still determining size... if its not noticable im gonna go 18... i just dont want to sacrifice the quickness...

I noticed right away when I went from my stock 16's to my heavy 18's. Acceleration dropped... but now I am so used to it (2 years), I forgot what 16's felt like. The car is still quick to me today, but it helps that I have a 6 speed. However, when I put my 18" Volks on, the car definitely felt lighter on its feet. In the summer I wind up speeding everywhere I go because the car gets up and goes so much quicker with ther Volks. So if you don't mind losing some speed for some style, then get lightweight 18's. But be warned that they are very pricey. If it's speed you are after, you can't go wrong with 17's. :)
