TYC Rice

I just took off my TYCs to send to TGTS. They are being painted carbon blue to match my car.

I put the stock tails on and I like them alot! It's funny how your tastes change for your car over the course of a year. I would never put any white/chrome lights on my car again, but at the time, I liked them alot.

I will be posting pics as soon as I get my TYcs back from him.

lol that happened to me. I had the gunmetal tyc's and I liked them. I got rear ended and got some red ones and I don't see how I liked the gunmetal ones.

I went through that phase back in 95-97 when clear tails were all the rage. I can't even fathom doing stupid crap like that to a car anymore.

When I first got the Celica, I bought black altezza's, blue shoulder pads, blue decals, painted my calipers blue, and my console blue. All on a black car. :faint: I look at my old pics and say to myself, "what the hell was I thinking."

Whew, glad Im not the only one that went through that. I really do think the stock ones look great now that they are back on! Can't wait to see what T an do with my Tycs though. Wow Joe, BLUEConsole and everything!? That must have been a site!!! :P Do you have any pics of that? :chuckles:

Yeah I agree. I got the car shortly after Fast and the Furious came out. I can only imagine the damage I would have done if I had money at the time. :rolleyes: But I've done my homework since then. I don't need "look at me, look at me" parts to satisfy my needs.

Haha, I know the pics hurt my eyes now. I actually liked the color of the blue console. It was a metallic color and it would change hues based on light, much like spectra blue does. It could get a lot darker than that based on the sun that day. But never again, those days are long gone.

I agree. I think the Tyc were the first thing I bought. Which led to exhaust, then Intake. Now... God knows I am about to spend more money on this car than I will admit to my girlfriend. I can just see her now rolling her eyes at me when I tell her what's next!

hahaha we are all here in the same boat! Don't worry, your girlfriend could never imagine what we REALLY spend on our cars. Tell her half the price and that usually sounds reasonable to them.

btw, good choice on painting the TYC's, that's gonna look really nice!

Ok twisted. Your formula is off!!!! I told my girlfriend I was spending half of what I really spent on a part for the car and she still went ape****!!! lol! I'm now sticking to the 1/4 formula.

Yeah, it is all pearl. It is actually a modified version of paint code 071 which is on the 05 Toyotas. I painted the car myself so the cost was FREE!!!! Its now at a shop where the engine is fully built and the turbo kit is going in. Thanks for the compliments.

I have been promoted to an Asst. Body shop manager/estimator. No I can no longer do paint work because I will easily be caught doing it since I am not always painting.

If your GF buys you mods then you can't really hide the prices. It's a good and a bad thing that she gets me stuff. She knows price ranges for EVERYTHING so i can't lie. I just have to hear the BS.

Well, that is the black housing and red ones. The chrome or even the gunmetal may look a little ricey but I see nothing wrong with the black housing TYC nor the reds. Later.
