Are you talking about the oil filter for the lift mechanism? If so, there was a thread about this on this forum or ecelica. Apparently, you only need to clean it out if it is blocked (your life won't engage or will engage late instead of 6krpm).

If you change oil regularly and use a good oil filter, you shouldnt have to worry about cleaning it. VVTL-i uses the same oil that you put in your car to engage.

I did this last week and my filter was in the other way too! I just turned it around as per the manual and works fine!!

So you have to actually remove the OCV housing to access the filter? That could be why I couldn't find mine. I just pulled out the OCV and nothing was there. The description I had made it sound like you pull off the OCV and the filter was right there. But my car works fine, so I haven't been that concerned about it.
