how easy is it to take the badge of the front of the car?

very easy. Do you want to take off just the badge or the whole assembly?
To take off just the bage, just pry it off with your hands or a small screw driver.
To take off the whole assembly, remove the screw that holds it to the bracket on the bumper and carefully pop it out. Be careful doing this because it is easy to btreak the pegs that hold it in.

I'm not totally clear how the Toyota badge in the upper grill is removed. (I'm installing a new grill in that location.) There appears to be one screw holding it in place from the inside center. When I attempt to remove the screw, the available space is too small to fit my small screwdriver.

Is there a special tool I need or just super small hands?

if you have a small enough screwdriver, or an angle driver, it'll work, otherwise, taking off the bumper works too
