Does, your hood vibrate while you're driving? Or even sitting still? I had recently had the scoop for about a month and half, and finally realized what that rattling noise was, from the inside. This could just my hood alone, but does anyone else notice this? i might have to put my OEM scoop back on, i dont want my hood flying off into my windshield.

My hood doesn't vibrate when sitting still. The hood and scoop move up and down very slighty at high speeds, 60+. I've had it like that for almost 2 years, no worries.

I just put my c-one scoop on about a month ago. I have never had a C/F anything before. There is a small gap between the hood and the scoop where it screws together. Is that normal or do I need to tighten them. It was also cold out and I did not want to crack it.
my glove compartment handle thing vibrates... drove me nuts until i figured out what it was... also my sunroof door slightly opens sometimes and that vibrates a little bit... still havent done anything about those two things :chuckles:

I have the VIS CF scoop (painted) on my CF hood and my hood raises and vibrates quite violently at speeds of 80mph. Your hood will vibrate somewhat with this scoop on as it willcreate lift when traveling. The air forced into the scoop will cause the hood to raise somewhat. If you got the factory steel hood still on then I would not give it a second thought. Later.

if its that hard to screw, to the point where you are afrad of breaking it, then i think that thats as far as it goes...

:werd: You don't want to force it and rip the bolts out. The edges should have been sanded sown more to make it sit flush.

I don't have any problems with my VIS scoop. I have a stock hood though which is heavier than CF, so it might make it more stable. I hit 130mph on a fairly regular basis. heh. (yes I know the spedo isn't 100% accurate, etc)

If your hood is shacking wildly at speed, it might be due to the hood spacers underneath it. Open the hood and take a look at the area where the hood would come in contact with the frame.
You'll see 4 rubber "spacers." Twist these spacers counter clockwise to raise them (they'll eventually pop off if you raise too much. Just screw back in). Adjust these spacers until the hood closes tightly onto the body. It should relieve most of the wobbling when the car's moving.

robare99: is there a difference between the VIS and C-One design?
Cool, thanks boostjunkie26. I'll have to check that tommorow. The hood doesnt shake violently, just a little at like around 80 mph, if im going over that, im not staring at my hood, im staring at the road ahead. :)

Yes, there's a thread in this forum right now with pics. Thread started by Jesse IL, title is differences between scoops, or something like that.
