Question about getting wider rims

Here's one for you tire guys:bowdown: I have fender flares and want to get wider 17's. Well if I got something in a 17x7.5 or a 17x8, which one would look better? And is 17x8 the widest they make wheels? Any suggestions would be appreciated....thanks guys.

well, I wouldn;t suggest wider than an 8" width. The reason is due to the fact that you will obviously rub. What people dont understand though, is you dont necessarily rub on the inside, you will rub on the outside fender when loading hard into a corner. Unless you have your fenders rooled, you wont fit an 8.5 on the car.
