i have to say that in black this car looks good! they had a silver one also and its not bad looking either. Driving through town for the first couple a min was weird as I didnt like the shifter location. But you adjust quickly as you realize this car has some get up and go. Its a little too quiet for my taste but that would be resolved when aftermarket parts comes on to the scene. The shifter itself wasn't bad, but not as direct as the celica. As there were 2 other ppl wanting to test drive the car i didnt get the full 30min they let you have....so off to the autobahn we went. Coming off the exit was just smooth power and merging was easier than trying to merge in the celica. Hitting VTEC wasn't as lifting as i thought it would be, but its noticable and it gets you going. I got up to about 210kph easy before the dealer ask me politely to slow down. He said tickets were given to dealers also when a test driver is given one. I exited on a ramp i knew had curves golore. I have to admit that i felt more comfortable taking these curves in the type r than in the celica. I also was taking them at a higher speed then normal. Acceleration also seemed to be noticed out of the corners as where in the celica it seemed to skip out, in the type r it bolts out. The dealer i had with me was pretty cool as i started to whip the steering wheel about to (test the rack):) He held on but i didnt get a good 180. But did bring the tires to a screeching halt. Brakes felt as good as the celicas if not better. Stereo sounds good, but eventually would be thrown out for an upgrade:) all in all this car is fun and could see a future in my life if i decided to stay over here, as modding it would be easy, and would produce good hp numbers. I think honda is mistaken not to bring the R to the states as it woud be gobbled up by not only honda lovers but import lovers of all models. I for one said i wouldnt get another honda(just because everyone else had one), but if the R comes to the states i might have to renig on my statement. Also in a race between it and the celica, if the celica driver isnt careful, he could lose...badly, as the weight is lighter than the celica and has more rated hp. But then again, the number one factor is the driver. Oh well its just a matter of time before you'll be able to rent them here, so the audi tt has a replacement (rental preference)

ghostface- although i havent seen one here in Germany doesnt mean they are not here, but as far as i know great britain has skylines beside japan. In this months SCC there is a page that seems to indicate that americans can get used skylines for 16000-28000 dollars. i almost creamed my pants!!

Since I wasn't fortunate to drive it all I could say was I liked the styling and the interrior. The shifter was in a cool position. And it reminded me of a mini version of the Odyssey

The whole concept of "Type R" versions built just for enthusiasts flat-out rules! Too bad Toyota didn't steal that idea from Honda like they stole their CART drivers.;)

umm. correct me if I'm wrong. But I could of sworn the autobahn didn't have a speed limit, that the speed went from left being the fastest, right being slowest moving traffic.... I thought that is why they always test those exotic cars there... If it does have a speed limit, what's so special about it?

correction.....Yes the autobahn has speed limits and at certain points it doesnt. It remains special because even when there is a speed limit posted, its still faster than 80mph. And they dont test exotic cars for speed on the autobahn, they have plenty of test tracks for that.
