I test drove a 2003 Eclipse GTS. I choose an automatic. It shifted terrible and jerky, probably because it only had 5 miles on it - but I would have chosen a 5 speed. I was not impressed by the acceleration once you are up and moving. The steering felt invisible. Good job on the styling updates, but in my opinion it's still a girls car.

Hehe, one good thing Mitsubishi tried to do is upgrade its performance a little bit with a boost to 210 hp, unlike Toyota, which for this year's Celica has downgraded performance a little bit. Adding 10 hp is better than taking away 500 rpm.;) A tiny bit of props for that. No props however, with making the Eclipse uglier with that new front bumper and those cheap looking new tailights.

Mistubishi makes no sense... you think toyota is bad with the 02 rev limiter?
the eclipse was TURBO... and also had an AWD, now... :wtf:
oh well, this is our "competition"

Very true. I forgot about that. Damn, that previous gen Eclipse was so much better than the present one.

Bastards! Stop ragging on our cars! :p
Anyway, I too am mad they threw away with the turbo and AWD, but it was better for Mitsubishi (sales wise), not for us.
Oh well, next year the Evo will be coming out. I'd like to see a Celica beat one of those. LOL, just playing.
Just wondering, what is the GTS's redline now?

not only did they add horsepower and make it look better (opinion), but they also changed the gearing to make it faster. cars are supposed to get BETTER (are you listening toyota???)
