I was thinking about getting some slotted or cross drilled rotors, but will those types of rotors increase brake pad wear?
Anyone know?
The resons I'm asking is that I can get a set of aftermarket rotors for around the same price as stock rotors.

don't get drilled, they are weak and only for show. You could get some powerslot slotted rotters for a decent price.

Like cheese on a grater?

the drilled are weaker then the regular or slotted. The slotted will eat your brake pads a little faster I believe

Both slotted and drilled will increase pad wear - the cheese grater comparison you made is a good one. You definitely can get aftermarket rotors for the same price or less than stock, but I'd stick with stock rotors. The metal and machining of these is very good, whereas with the cheaper aftermarket you'll be getting poorer quality in both areas. When I bought replacement rotors, the only other ones I considered were the Brembo stock replacement units (no drilling or slotting.) They were just as expensive as the stock units, so I chose the stock rotors.
