Hey everyone.. I have some TSBs to go through with you .. if you need exploded pictures or any other info about anything let me know and Ill scan it.
Heres a TSB list of ones I though were interesting:
The titles are self explanatory.. just look at the file name.. and i'm cross posting this in mods and in warranty in case people dont frequent these places often...
here they are with file sizes listed:
http://www.radphys.com/TSB_BO023R_Door_handle_loose.pdf
http://www.radphys.com/TSB_Tire_inflation_torque.gif
http://www.radphys.com/TSB_rattle_noise_repair.pdf
http://www.radphys.com/TSB_shifter_springs.pdf
The next 2 are for people as crazy as larry:
http://www.radphys.com/TSB_valve_adjustment.pdf
http://www.radphys.com/TSB_valve_adjustment_steps.pdf
I know there are plenty of DRL removal instructions.. here are the official ones from toyota:
http://www.radphys.com/TSB_DRL_REMOVE.pdf
AND FINALLY... THE FULL ELECTRICAL DIAGRAM OF OUR CAR... CAREFUL THIS FILE IS 1.34 MEGS...
http://www.radphys.com/WIRING_DIAGRAM_FULL.pdf
Larry feel free to add these to whatever section of the site to make them more permanent and accessable.. these all relate to questions that I've seen on the site in the past. Enjoy and let me know if you need any others.

WOW... mad reply... I guess I'll do more then.. hehe...
Pocket: The reason I put these TSBs up is 3 fold.. first its to let the celi community know that if you're having a problem with the car, you're not the only one and toyota knows about it. Second, theres the actual fix for the problem listed. and third, dealers try to give you crap most of the time when you're trying to get some warranty work done on the car.. i had this problem with them refusng to change the shifter springs. If I had the TSB i would've printed it out and shoved it in their faces and demanded the replacement. It evens the playing field a little.
Eveyone Else: you're welcome! I'll put some more of the interesting ones out there.
XYRCNP: I havent seen anything about the stain on the cover... however heres a TSB for replacing the sunshade trim: http://www.radphys.com/TSB_Sunshade_removal.pdf
OK SOME MORE STUFF:
When I blew my engine I wondered what the ECM can record and what it can hold in memory... My speed, RPS, gear.. well now I know:
http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_SAE_ECM_TROUBLECODES.gif http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_SAE_ECM_TROUBLECODES2.gif http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_SAE_ECM_TROUBLECODES3.gif
Heres the list of toyota specific codes: http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_TOYO_ECM_TROUBLECODES.gif
And if you find yourself with a blown engine with a definite chance of culpability:
"Without Scan Tool
Clearing the DTC
The DTCs and freeze frame data will be erased by disconnecting the battery terminals or EFI fuse."
AND... QUESTION OF THE DAY>>> WHERE ARE THE EFI FUSES: http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_FUSEBLOCK_DIAGRAM.pdf
More???

Someone asked for this one in another forum:
Heres a list of all the connectors in our car and instructions on replacing pins in them.. The reason I put this up is related to doing warranty work.. Instead of splicing any harness wires, you can instead remove the pin, connect it to your device and create a new pin.. this means that you can reverse this to go back to stock if you ever have to:
http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_REPLACE_CONNECTORS_ECM.pdf http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_CONNECTORS_LIST.pdf

This rox. I think this stuff deserves a permanent place on NC.org.. Anyway, if ya can, keep'em coming! ..especially any other TSB's! I'm really interested in them.. especially TSB's relating to tranny issues (synchro's) if there are any. Also, any rattles in the interior or engine squeaks & ticks. I think I speak for everyone when I say.. THANK YOU.

Hey thanks a lot guys.. actually I got in touch with larry about it already.. we'll see about making it more permanent after the site moves... for now though you can keep it at the top of mods by asking for specific things.. I can start putting things up randomly too but i think lots of people have specific questions and that would require more immediate attention.
So in celebration of this I've posted some more of these things:
heres a list for matching the numbers of the connectors to the names: this is a complement to the ones above: http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_CONNECTOR_NAME_NUMBER_MATCH.pdf
Ok heres a good little project:
re-aiming your headlight to give you better coveage and annoy that person if front of you:
http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_HEADLIGHT_ADJUSTMENT.pdf
This next article is one I should've put put online first.. i just found it though.. its basic tips on doing service to your car:
http://www.radphys.com/AARTICLE_REPAIR_BASICS.pdf
I'll load some more on later on tonight when i get bored with studying..
later,

Hey Blue Batmobile:
The only thing I see in those TSB's is the 2 extender problems (no problem unless youre big) and the one TSB on replacing the tongue stopper. Other than that I won't put up info on restraint system... Thats something that people shouldnt play with no matter what. If you need specific info you can email me and I'll see about putting it up.. either way though you should just take it to the dealer..
I feel bad about not putting up the fiddling info for that though.. and it would probably be the only time i do it (this and airbags), so Heres something to play around with meanwhile:
Someone put this up before on the site, if you dont want all your panels to get scratched up from the seat belt tongue you can follow the following directions to replacing the tongue stopper:
http://www.radphys.com/TSB_TONGUE_PLATE_STOPPER.pdf
Heres another one.. This one is more interesting and you can do it if you're bored one day and wish to work on your celica... it takes care of the problem of windnoise coming from the left (driver-side) mirror.. check it out:
http://www.radphys.com/TSB_REDUCING_WINDNOISE.pdf
let me know if you need any other diagrams, etc.
remember that the entire vehicle electrical wiring diagram was posted in the first post in this thread.

I think theres only a handful of TSBs that I havent done yet that actually say something so I'll just rpobably end up putting those up a little later. Hope this helps..
And of course I have to mention this.. any work that you do on your car in your own time and space is your responsibility.. the only reason that these things are up is to help you get DEALER repair not do the work yourself. And by using this material you absolve me and NC.ORG from any wrongdoing or responsibility should you f%ck up... The bridge is there... if you wanna jump off of it thats your problem.

Keu Keyshawn.. if it was up to me I'd digitize everything and put it up... I need to figure out a way to organize the stuff though cause its already getting out of control with less than 25 articles... i'll figure that out... The other this is that yes i'd like this to become more permanent... i already talked to larry about it... we'll see once the site moves over... Thanks for the compliment..

How about the info for the whole brake system for both the GT and the GT-S. So I can compare the systems for a Drum to Disc conversion. Also the inspection Rear brake exterior PDF is for the GT-S rear Disc not the GT Drums.
Keep them coming this is helpful info.

Hey recklessracer /// For some reason I can't find the diagrams for the rear bumper.... The body diagrams are pretty skimpy in this thing... Ask around again in mods or maybe someone who's reading this thread can help you with it too... I cant promise anything though cause most people reading this are not show ppl but go ppl... you might find someone who's both that can help you in here. sorry

so in theory i should be able to go into my dealer with the TSB report in hand for the new ECU and injectors, and he will check the ECU and see that the codes are the ones listed on the TSB. then in theory he should give me my new ECU and injectors, right? my problem is that i have AEM CAI and i really dont want to take them out and swap back to the stock box unless i have to. if i get the right code (i have an AutoTap that gives me engine codes) then it shouldnt matter that i have CAI, right? or am i being way to optimistic? its not like CAI could cause a cylinder misfire could it????
GTS LAID

well yes... getting the code out of autotap can help you greatly b/c then you can confront the dealer about it if they give you ****... tell them you have an OBD scan tool and tell them what the code is saying... show them the code list (have it circled before hand) ... if it is true that theres no way the CAI can cause a misfire (i dont know how you'd prove this cause i dont know much about the dynamics between the CAI and the ignition circuitry), then they should fix the problem without hassling you. If they do hassle you simply take it out and take it to another dealer. Dont use the reports in front of the dealer unless you have to. And if they ask you where you got it from tell them you have the service manual and the TSBs were printed online.

Uhhh, WTF is this about... For which car,GT GT-S, is the ECU and injector problem on? where is the PDF or GIF he want's to have in hand? The reason I'm asking is for the last couple of days my car has been stalling for no reason everytime it's when I step on the clutch and release the gas to slow down for a turn or stoplight. It's happened twice while I was turning I almost hit a median because I lost Power steering and P-brakes when this happened and to turn the wheel on a car that is equipted W/ powersteering when the P-steering is off is really difficult. If this is related or if you know why my car would keep stalling let me know. Total Stalls in the last 4 Days 9 stalls 2 thurs, 2 Friday, 4 yesterday, and 1 today. I have a 2001 GT W/ an injen short ram but this wouldn't be the problem would it? could it be fuel filter? Let me know ASAP I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow to find out why it's stalling.
BTW: it'll take a lot of research to do the drum to disc conversion so it probably won't happen for a few Months.

Protools the TSB that Rizzo is talking about is the one on the first page a couple of posts down... TSB_ECM_MIL or something like that... its posted by itself... the problem only seems to be in the GT-S ... the ECU gets multicylinder misfire and single cylinder misfire CEL warning... the TSB doesnt mention the GT though so i dont think this is whats causing your problem... Look into the following:
is your idle battery voltage above 11V (need a voltmeter for this) if not then you have to replace the battery
check the air filter (Intake) .. make sure filter isnt dirty or excessively oily. If necessary then clean the thing with compressed air from the inside and outside. you could be choking your engine... but unlikely cause CEL would come on.
Check your idle speed.. for the 1zz it should be between 650-750 rpm. if its messed up then you have a whole other diagnostic procedure to go through and it could be causing your problem.
Check your ignition timing.. for this you need a special tool.. its something you can ask them to do though.
check your fuel pressure using the OBD tester or by connecting + and - voltage to your fuel pump connector (again if you got up to here let me know and I'll go into it in more detail)
Check for spark in the spark plugs by taking it out, grounding it and cranking the engine... just dont crank for more thana 5-10 secs max otherwise they'll be too much fuel in the engine...
If you ask me its probably your fuel pump control circuit... unless this only happens when you turn on the AC.. then it could be the AC switch circuitry but I dont think thats whats happening... anyway tell them you think its the fuel pump control circuit...
anyway let me know what it turns out to be at the dealer tomorrow...
