So I had off from work today, so i figured id get a few things done like deposit checks and FINALLY take my car in for the brake master cylinder recall notice i got 3 weeks ago...
I went in and showed the letter and he asked if I wanted to wait while i had things looked at... Then I mentioned if they have heard any complaints with the 00-02 sunroofs peeling... The two service mangers looked at me like I was nuts and said "Nah we haven't" and both agreed that it was weird that mine was peeling... So obviously I didnt think anything of it and went to the waiting room and watched two episodes of "Cops" which was cool because one of the episodes showed cops in hong kong taking down the "triads" lol... So the rep comes over and the first thing he said was "I took a look at your sunroof and I see what you are talking about I'll put in a call to see if i can get it fixed up for you, ill give you a call soon to let you know" which floored me because I didnt expect that at all... I actually had to ask him how my brakes were and he just said "They are fine, its really rare to see celicas with that problem"... On my service sheet it says "Sunroof tint peeling. Verified customer concern. Manager to speak with rep when he comes in to see if we can get covered for customer" and i was kicking myself in the waiting room for not being more persistant in explaining the problem... We'll see what happens... I am not getting my hopes up, but it is the first time, getting a service done to my car at Toyota, and have been happy with the outcome... Toyota service jumped a couple of rankings up in my book for this one... I'll keep you all updated...
BTW i have 71k on my 00 GTS...
