Hey guys. Ok I havent posted in a while cause ive been waiting and waiting for the Apex-i tuner to come from NY .. FINALLY HERE. We started tuning this morning and Car is comming along Great but not done yet. We figured out that my stock injectors werent cutting it soo I bought some WrX injectors from a friend of mine and now we are ALOT better.
We came to this conclusion cause it would accelerate GREAT until it would hit 5500-6000 RPMS and then it would Knock to the point where you heard it But the software said the knocking level was 50. soo We added more fuel and still. we put the stock injectors at 118% and still not enough. sooooo We placed the other injectors and at 89% its GREAt. Accelerated to about 7200 RPMs in 1st and 2nd BUT in 3rd it would knock at around 5500 again. soo next thing we are doing is adding a 255 walboro fuel pump, Bosh fuel pressure Reg. and we are making a return line. this will be done tomorrow. If all goes as planned i will be going to the dyno tomorrow as well and HOPEFULLY be posting some numbers for you guys by tomorrow night. :thumbup: :gap:

I havent even installed the Boost controller yet. its still at a preset level. but my tuner is saying that he is pretty sure we can get about 300 hp out of it. jejejeje. It just BEGS for more fuel.

Bing I might have to get that Gasket from you to bring the compression down. But not yet. Ill find out the next time the tuner is comming and ill order it for that time. I KNOW im going to want to add more jejeje

ehhhhh.... do not recommand up the boost that much... Stock tranny :scared:

Additionally, I recommend you go with low comp pistons instead of the thicker head gasket. Not to sell C2 short at all, but several here seem to feel it would be a better solution.
And if you are considering tearing the engine apart again to do the head gasket, you may as well do pistons instead. They'll be just as accessible.

Yeah im seriously considering the Pistons. We will see what happens later on. Depending on how satisfied I am with the results. I will keep everyone posted on this. Tomorrow I think we will be finished and ill TRY to get a few Dyno runs tomorrow .If I cant do it tomorrow ill do it monday but im shooting for tomorrow.
That stock tranny is definitely the BIGGEST WEAK LINK on our cars. Has anyone every considered taking their trany to LeveL10? Would they work on our trany?

Level10 won't touch it. I already asked them about it.
They have, more or less, discontinued their work on manual tranny's and, if still listed on their website, they said it's because it's not been updated.
They just concentrate on making auto tranny's into monster's. Which makes sense as there are some ridiculously high power and very efficient track vehicles that use an auto tranny (3-4 speed).
The only option is to go with C2 Power or get your stock tranny cryotreated. But the C2 Power one will allow you an overall higher top speed.

Since you have the tuner there... Ask him about temperature changes that would affect knock, when knock start getting high what should you do to tune it down. Learn all that you can to keep things running great on the tuning part.

Yeah i bet you were having a real time tuning, we are running 720cc injectors on our application, thats with a fuel pump that will support800hp and a return system.

Hey mike. Ill be sure to ask him on Monday.. Ok guys... my car is ALMOST done. WE have 1st 2nd and 3rd. running SOOOOO NICE... i have 18'S and i have NOOOOOOOO TRACTION if I FLOOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is INSANE!! OMG. and my Knocking level never went over 17 at 8200 RPMS I think that is pretty good. and temp here is ALWAYS hot. except at night wich gets a bit cool. Ill prob Dyno on Monday night sooo ill be praying and crossing my fingers for big gains. we will see. Wish me luck guys. I still dont know why i needed PUMP, INJECTORS AND REG. We had to create a Return Also.

Yeah you will want to dyno when it is cold...
#1. you can see the temperature correction in PFC is working well or not, if not then tuner can fix it.
#2. you will get even more power :D
#3. Take your glamor dyno run at night because you will make more power with cold air :gap:

Hey what sup GTS_TURBO_HUNGR this is off topic to this [page} but i was hoping you can help me out. Some people been telling me that you have had the same problem as i did with my turbo. Right now, when i drive around sometime dark smoke would come out of my exhuast and i believe it to be burning oil from the turbo. Did you have a problem like this and if so, what did you have to do to get it fix?

DArk like what? cause mine was White smoke. some people thought it was water but it was actually OIL bruning. I had my breather hose connected. I had to disconect and put a little breather filter there. Anywho. Sooo much oil went through the pipes. I had to take all my piping out and clean it WELL because even after i fixed the problem. some of it was in the pipes and it went through the intake and cause a bit of Detonation. But everything is clean now. I ordered a Greddy Catch can to replace the filter too. I didnt like the filter. But if you have BLACK smoke you could just be running too rich or check your plugs. You could have a bad one.

Ok when you gas it hard and you see dark smoke come out of the tail pipe it is actually normal, if you do not believe me watch some of the tuner videos when they gas it hard you will see black puff of smoke coming out of tailpipe.

UPDATES UPDATES UPDATES........ Ok im pretty sure EVERYONE here will flip out with this one. I WAS BOOSTING AT 15 POUNDS. Noone noticed it. i never looked at my boost gauge and he was always looking down at the laptop.
I noticed this when i lost boost that i put all the plugs back on. I noticed the Wastegate plug was ripped soo i ZipTied it and everything was good except that my car was only boosting 4 pounds. But it wasnt loosing boost soo it couldnt have been a vacuum. SOOOO when we took it to my mech we checked all the hoses and everything was cool. BUT still 4 pounds. soo I told my mech what i did. and he said ok lets try it BUT dont push it too hard. AND THERE IT WAS. Boosting like craazy. BUT my KNocking never went above 20 at around 7700 rpms. IT was insane. BUT its too much . Today we will install the BoostControl and set it at a safe boost. ill keep you guys posted. Still havent gone to the dyno.Tuner is still here he is leaving tomorrow. Im pretty sure he wants to finish my car as bad as I do.Ill let you guys know tonight.

I didn't really get what caused you to run 15PSI though.
When you were having problems with getting traction, were you pushing 15PSI as well? Have you ever ran at the preset boost level?

HUHHUHUUUUUUU Man! 15psi~=300whp on a gts
Donot force it that high!!! You are running on stock internals!!! The 4 psi is possible as we have to modify the wastegate arm and it may not tensioned well enough. You could just bent it a bit beside buying a boost controller.

Yoo guys it was insane.. Thats why i was having such bad traction problems. lol. But5 i bought a boost controler and they installed it already. Its set @ 10psi. The tuner will finish my car tonight and i will do Dyno runs tonight. im going to try to upload them tonight as well ok. I dont what im going to dyno at but it should be fun to see. I got 15 psi cause the wastegate valve wasnt connected. it was open. I mean i just pushed it and saw it went to 15 psi but I dont know if it would have gone further. Luckily im not craazy and decided to see how fast i could go in it lol.

15psi on a stock GT-S engine is just nutz. Yeah it is a smart thing to lower to a safe level before you blow that thing up

I cant believe it didnt BLOW. Im sooo surprized. but my knocking level never passed 20. The tuner would tell me to punch it and if knocking went up he would add more fuel . Soo he just kept tuning untill knocking was safe. At no point did we realize that it was boosting soo much. But it felt sooooo good. Im sure we can still get some descent numbers even at 10 psi cause im running 98-101 octane fuel plus injectors, plus fuel pump and Regulator. he can tune it to stay safe. Ill keep you updated.

hmmmm tuner was not checking boost..... Hope he just over looked it or else he don't sound like he is that good, a good tuner will take all safty precautions when tuning which include looking at the boost gauge. They do that during rough tune while watching all the equipment including gauges and when they are sure car is running safely persistantly then they fine tune for more power by leaning it out... Have him do that or you do that for him next time you guys tune the car.

Mann the tuner was finishing up the last cars tonight sooo we had no time to dyno the car. He offered to go in the morning with me cause he is leaving at 12 but i have to work soo i told him to forget it. Its all good though. Ill go sometime this week and the latest on saturday. Tomorrow I need to get some fuel. This tuning **** killed it. lol. WE set the boost at 10psi and it just RIPS it up!!!!! OMG im on a rolling start and at about 30 MPH i just punch it and it just SPINS MY 18'S!!!!!! its sick. Ill make sure i get that Dyno run in this week. Guess what... my mech. has a 11 second supra in his garage and he gave me a ryde. OMG I told him it was soo ****ed up cause NOW my car feels like a snail compared to that thing. Its boosting 24 psi !! it is CRAAAAZY! it literaly sinks you into your seat.

Sorry for keeping everyone waiting. I havent had ANY TIME to dyno my car. Im going to TRY to go either tomorrow or tuesday. There is a vavle that goes into the wastegate that keeps popping out and bringing my boost up. I plug it back in and when i push it a few times it pops right out. Im supposed to get it fixed tomorrow. I dont want to take any vids pushing the car cause if it pops out while im purshing it there is going to be problems.I promise EVERYONE ill fix the problem tomorrow and im praying i get out of work early enough to go Dyno it on Tuesday. Im dying to know just as bad as everyone else trust me.
Oh and GT-Skid I do have it set at 10PSI but im running Pump Injectors FuelReg. and 101 octane ALL THE TIME soo Im chillin. My knocking NEVER goes pass 20. Please guys be patient. Suspense is killing me too

Hey Romeo! Yeah you cant hear the BOV but its my Digital cam. cause you can hear REAL loud in the car.I think its the Exhaust that hides that BOV sound.you WILL hear the BOV today though. ill send you the vids tonight at the other email addy.

I just viewed them both and the first video, the BOV was clearly hearable. On the 2nd vid it's also hearable, but there was alot more noise from other things.
But I know for sure his BOV is working properly.

Forgot to mention to you guys .. Those vids. I didnt have my boost controler set correctly and it would go up to 8 psi and dropp down to 4 psi. its 4 psi cause my stock psi is lower than normal. Bing explained why. Anywho yall get the picture. If any of you thought my car seemed kinda slow that was the reason. Everything is up to par now and again i cant do a 40MPH rollon without spinning my 18

Nahh, it's ok. Good luck on the dyno. Try and get that boost drop fixed. It would be a waist to see your lift curve without max boost.

WEll Guys Im sooo very very very very very very dissapointed. The Dyno was horrible. Apparently the tuner left WAAAAAYYYY too much fuel in the map from like 4000 to 6500 RPMs and my car starts off at 150HP at lik 3500 and then Drops to 100 hp and then at like 6800 it starts to pick up. My A/F at those RPMs went WAAAAY BELOW 10. I hit 181HP. Im SOOOOO FVCKING upset. Im calling the guy tomorrow. He better get da hell down here and fix this ****.I have ONE video cause i didnt even feel like doing anymore runs. I just did ONE run and told them to take it off the lift. If anyone can help me with the map or somethin i would appreciate it. If not its ok ill try to figure SOMETHING out. I dont even feel like driving my car.... He had told me that he left it a bit rich cause i was pushing 10 psi but i rather have had him bring down the boost and Fix that ish. I think the BIGGEST problem was that he didnt tune on the Dyno it was on the street with an AEM UEGO and his laptop. Im sooo upset guys Im sorry. Just a really bad day for me today.

Are you sure you were looking at hp and not torque? With your mods that just doesn't sound right....even that rich it should be more hp than that at 10psi.

150hp and a powerdrop to 100, that's just crazy. What A/F is WAYYY too much fuel like you described?

Thanx guys. Im going to try and find someone with a laptop to lend me and get the map and ill send it to both Bing and Gas. But yeah you guys are right I shouldnt have let him leave the country. Sooo Sooo dissapointed. Now that I know you guys can help me ill try and do this as fast as I can.

Sorry to hear all that but don't give up & be patient. That c2gas & bing offer you to help you with your map without I knowing them that would be already a great relief for me.
Remember you might have a/f meter setup in your car but on the dyno is much better than on the street!!!

I'm sorry to hear that GTS_TURBO_HUNGR. From the video you made it doesn't surprise me your running 181hp. Tuned NA & 6psi turbo gts's pick up better than that.
I'm sure you will hit 250whp when your tuning is done (RIGHT!). Can we have somemore videos as well?

Thanx for your support guys. I have the Dyno run in my hand but it is WAYY too light. the printer at the shop didnt have enough ink. One of my friends is oing to scan it this afternoon and try to photoshop it to make it more visible and ill post it and send it to gas ALONG with my map. I hope he can help me out. Thanx Alot Gas you dont have to do this but you offer anyways. I really appreciate it.
I am also going to call my tuner and ask him some questions. Hopefully i can get everythign straightened out soo and ill post some more vids. I still need someone to host them though. is Romeo still up to it?

hmmm..... You tuned the setup with wideband on streets on 10psi, but now you are less than 10psi? What are you boosting again? It is normal that you are running too rich using same map going to a lower boost, but it should not rob your HP that much...
Best solution I think is turn you boost back to 10psi since that is what he tuned on and dyno to see what the A:F is, if it is fine then keep that maybe fine tune it alittle bit more.

I wanted to send the map to Gas but ive never used the Datalogit. I wanted to know how I could pull up the map. I also wanted to know, Even if my tuner used his powerexcell, will i still be able to see the map with my Datalogit?. Can someone tell me how to pull up the map with Datalogit so that i can send it to Gas. Thanx again guys.

OK guys here is my Dyno run.. Im still working on how to get the map out of my car. Im getting a laptop tomorrow. if someone can help me out let me know. GAS and BING this is for yall. Thank you.

Mind you guys.. this is at 10 PSI 101 octane fuel. The tuning is sooo bad its not even cool. Please help

Sorry, I wasn't looking at the dyno properly.
First off, you need to get rid of that huge rich part.
Maybe that's what spoiling the high end power. Also, would you happen to have a dyno with rpm's? Might be easier to tune for us.
Did you manage to get the map off yet? I don't have any experience with datalogic, so please try to get it off and make some screenshots of it or something.

That is WAY rich!!!! You said 10 afr but that is just the lowest you can see....who knows what is actually is! I bet the entire graph will change once you pull some fuel out!

yeah I know guys :( I gotta work on it Today. Im getting together with a friend of mine with his laptop and we are going to try and take a screen shot of the map. Ill go back to the Dyno and get it with the RPM band like you said Bing. Ill send it to you and post it on this as well. My tuner said he could help me get rid of some fuel just with him on the phone but i want to completely fix this. Bring the boost down to 10 PSI and tune it like that. WE will see. Cause he is saying that we can leave it like that If i keep using the same fuel. anyways we will see wha happens tomorrow ill be posting some stuff tomorrow guys.
Richen up the upper rpm's a bit, IE lift. 12.5 A/F on a stock engine worries me. Try to get it down to 11.5 just for safety reasons.

MAN I cannot believe this map was done by a tuner. You can be happy if it spools at all with that much gas. Let me have a look on the map if you can send it. It is rich all the way untill like 5500rpm so you can alsotry to pull off some gas under that area.

OK Gas im going to my friends house to try and get the map out...Yeah my turbo spools but its not quick. You know exactly whats going on. Ill send it to you today. Thanx again for helping me out. Ill send you the map as soon as I get home. Oh and im also going to try and get the Dyno sheet with the RPM band
