More sema pics, and turbo GT-S motor

Sema pics from a local speed shop...

Near the end of the list is the picture of the matrix that SCC turbocharged. Remember this is the same motor as the GT-S and they managed to put like 251 or 231hp down on the dyno... check the pic, its not a really good one, but i think you can make it out...

I'm wondering why they had a Turbo Matrix there and not the Celica. It was XS's booth and they should at least showcase the Celica or could it be that the Turbo kit fits better in the matrix cause it has a bigger engine bay..:pissed2

look closely it says it has:

7 PSI
231@7400rpm whp
165@7300rpm wtorque
with 91 octane fuel

that's not really that low. it's a turbo at 7psi, not nitrous. which is interesting. XS's turbo on the Celica 2ZZ-GE got 251whp in non-street legal trim with 7.5psi, but 230-something whp legal. so this is the legal version we're looking at.

160-170 wheel torque is what the auto GTS would put out with a 50-60 shot of nitrous. a 6-speed GTS with a 50-60 shot of nitrous would put out nearly 200 wheel torque.

that's actually GOOD, btw, for stock transmissions. cuz you won't spin the tires as much maybe :)

now...why don't they turbocharged the AWD matrix? :D

Just remember that the xs turbo celica kept getting slower because of detonation. They had to keep turning down the boost.

This one is done right. It has been tuned by shiv, and will run those numbers on 91 octane with nice EGTs and no detonation.

I posted information about him a few days ago, and no one said a word. You guys really should call him...

The reason why I didn't contact Vishnu right away is because there is no info about the Turbo Matrix on the site, nor is there a phone number or address for the shop. I'll send 'em an email next week though. Thanks for the info!
