i didn't own one, but I had saved up all my life savings to get a fox body m ustang or an old firebird (which i didn't want after i learned about the sucky 305 chevy motor)

i wanted a black one...hatchback
or a blue and silver two tone hatch.

i got the celica because i wasn't allowed to get a v8 FR car as my own first car. no complaints here, except that I won't be running 11's anytime soon.

anyways, everyone else confess!!!

I'm 30, which put me in high school from 87-90. Back then, all I wanted was a Mustang. The GT convertibles back then were sexy and fast and they handled great.....NOT ANYMORE. Mustangs have sucked ever since they left the 5.0 302 and the greatest evidence of this is that the V6 Firebird is less than a second slower 0-60. In my opinion, they're ugly now too and have this econo look to them.

I WILL confess however to my new wet-dream car, the 2002 BMW M3. It would be worth changing my name to Biff just to drive one. Image aside, the new M3 is the best performance for the money. As far as I know, any stock car that can do 0-60 faster (4.8 sec) will be over 100 grand, and this is BEFORE Dinan gets a hold of them. Hmmmm, this makes me wonder. How many cars can do 0-60 in under 5 secs stock?

Vettes are pretty good as far as price/performance but c'mon....it's a Chevy.

I had a 68 Mustang and was planning on getting a 94-95 GT Mustang until I fell in love with the Celica.

hmm. my senior year of high school.....3 years ago i bought an '89 mustang lx 5.0 5spd. it was lightly modded. i still love the car, it died on me and i coudnt afford to keep fixing it, just wasnt worth it. i was pissed.......the car was in mint condition :( i paid $4400 and got $1500 cause it wasnt running when i sold it. i prefer not to think about it :(

Except maybe a 66-68 Fastback. They's nice.

Oh, my first car was a 72 Nova SS. So I'm biased....

I bought an 89 LX 5.0 new, and although the the torque and rumble were intoxicating, the remainder of the car was lousy. It handled like crap, the chassis quivered over every bump, rattles and wind noise galore, and the front end dove like a labrador retriever when I braked! I spent $3000 in 2 years repairing the thing until I finally gave up and dumped it for a '91 CRX si to help recover my losses. The CRX was supprisingly more fun to drive overall, and I was now getting 35 MPG, with no repairs. Also, the car was so much more solid, stable, and responsive than the Mustang could ever dream to be.

I had a '66 Mustang Convertible. 200 cu. in 6 cylinder. I know it wasn't a 289 Small block.. but it was a cool car.. Partially restored.

I had the same dream during highschool. I wanted a Mustang GT convertible. White/ Red leather... White Top. 302 w/ t-5 5 speed. I already had dreams of Vortech supercharger and Saleen wing and suspension. That was the Shiznit during the early 90's.. hahahaha

I still want at 66 Fastback and re-create my own GT-350.

95 pontiac firebird formula....no options except t tops and ait...stripped 6 speed, 17" zr1 style wheels sweet car till i got rear ended....i couldnt afford a new fbody, so i ordered one of the last 98 mustang gt's made..17" wheels, 5 speed mach 460 stereo, and the special sport group which added motorsports exhaust, springs, and 3.73 rear end. i lightly modded it with a bbk cai, and a bbk H pipe..car was sweet...too abd insurance went high adn i hadda get the celica...but fear not, i beleive a new stang is in my future...mike
