Welps...we picked up a Black WRX for 500 bucks under invoice with 10 percent financing. No money Down. Oh well..the dealership actually LOST money on us..cuz it was such a slow ass week (no car sales in over 4 days)...I know...I looked at the computer they use for tracking when he went to the back..mwhahah.
We kinda ate it a little on the payments because of the negative equity on her Grand Am GT....but it's all good cuz I'm getting a pretty fat bonus this July that we'll be investing in the WRX to cut down the interest charge.
Oh..and she's not ready to kick my ass yet. She can't drive a stick very well.
I wouldn't let her get an auto if we were buying one...I told her from the get go....so she test drove an auto...and my god..her total demeanour changed when she got behind the wheel..
After she drove it for a good 5 minutes.....she started driving a helluva lot faster than she normally does....it was amazing.
I guess the car really does affect how you drive.....cuz as we were turning into the dealership...me and the salesman coulda swore she was gonna cut a powerslide into the lot.
Hmm..anyways...we got pretty much the whole enchilada ...boost gauge, momo steering wheel, 6 disc cd changer...factory subwoofer(sounds pretty damn good) plus the spoiler and some other crap.
I'm gonna try and get her to join the SCCA.
For a little practice tonight..I drove her to the base..and my god..the thing is freaking EFFORTLESS on the highway...I'm kinda tripping because the power delivery is SO DAMN SMOOTH.
Oh..and by the way..the Celica STILL looks a helluva lot sweeter..heheh. :D

What's with the high interest rate? I believe that car dealers can actually make some money off the financing by jacking up the rate. Seeing how you are getting the car for $500 under invoice, most likely, this is what they're doing.
Regardless, enjoy the new car!

Freaking no money down, I think that has something to do with it.
I think...they can't make ANYTHING from the deal IF you pay it off sooner than expected. I expect to use my bonues to pay about 10,000 up front and on the car in July...so that'll pretty much take care of that high ass interest rate.
Happened on my Celica..but I over pay by 200 bucks..and it eliminates the time needed to pay it off (hence no interest charge)...and also the amount you actually pay for the car.
It's time borrowed...and no penalties for early pay off.
Good stuff, if you can manage it. :P

there are alot of bank sites that let you check your amortization rates.
For instance I found I could knock a year off my loan by paying another 50 dollars a month.
My deal was similar to yours, but I put 500 down on the celi, and got a 10% ir.
Funny thing I thought it sucked ass and was pissed about it.
oh well, guess I can always refinance later

The very first things you should do are:
1. K&N filter
2. Boost Controller
3. Change the rubber shift bushings to urethane and eliminate that slop in the shifter
4. Up-pipe

Congrats! I had a guy in one today on I-10....drove up to me and then sat next to me for about 1/8 mile or so....like I might want to race....in my '86 MR2....
So apparently the rex comes with a free sense of humor :)
Oh yeah, welcome to the "Wife's-got-a-turbo-and-I-don't" club :D

They still make $$$ if you pay it off sooner...Paying ahead will just lessen the effect of that high ass interest rate...it doesn't eliminate it.

Wow....that sounds pretty damn inexpensive......
What will that do for the power of the car? I know I'm definetly getting a turbo timer for my wife so she doesn't shorten the life of the turbo (more than I will at least..heheh).
And from what I've read and heard so far...if I eliminate two of the catalytic converters in the emissions setup, I can still pass Washington emissions testing plus gain some HP on it?
Is this true? And what in hell is a good enthusiast site for the WRX? So far all I've seen is i-club.com.
Thanks for the compliments guys...my WIFE appreciates it..heh.
Of course..I'm definetly going to borrow it on the weekends..hah...I did a drift today on the back roads on base...and that AWD is addicting!!! :D
By the way..that shiat is harder than it looks..heh. :(
OH...and the insurance rate is AWESOME...I had a 99 Grand Am GT before the WRX...and my insurance went down 75 BUCKS just now!!! Woot!!!

check out cobbtuning.com or vishnuperformance.com, they both have some relatively affordable performance packages that can make that car scary fast. oh, and get a kit and the dual projector headlight conversion, that makes the car look a million times better.

I wouldn't let her get an automatic!!!!
She WANTED TO GET AN AUTOMATIC...I was luck FUG NO!!!
She's pretty much hated my guts up until TODAY....cuz she couldn't drive stick worth a dang, and hills scared the crap outta her. She was crying Sunday and Monday, cuz she was getting so frustrated. :(
Today, I can proudly say that she can take hills like a champ from a dead stop!!! I started her out on small inclines....and finally...to the BIG ENCHILADA...a practically 45 degree hill near her workplace that I even stalled on!! After that..she was FLYING practically when we drove after that.
Anyways...I took her on some sweeps near Puyallup and showed her what the thing could do in the RAIN....this thing is UNBELIEVABLE..we were in a steady downpour and were doing about 85 on the highway without even a stutter of complaint from her. It's like glue or something..we were passing people like they were chumps..hah.
As far as the car being sporty..the thing has 227HP 217TQ, does the 0-60 in 5.4, 1/4 in about 14.1(these are manufacture's numbers by the way), and can kick the snot outta my Celica.
I can't wait to race her...heheh.
Oh..and the insurance went down..like I said earlier about 26 bucks from my Grand Am..and I pay more for my Celica GT-S than I do on my Grand Am.
The cool thing is...I felt totally satisfied jumping back into my Celica this morning....I can't help it...my Celica fits me like a glove. It's so damn low to the ground that it still feels like a rocket, and I'd have to say it's a bit more agile than the WRX.
:D Either way...I feel alot better about my wife driving that car...it can make an amateur look like a professional.
