sup all i just bought super white 2002 celica gts and am new to board, just wondering what the ups and downs of the 2002 gts are and about the rev limiter issue.. thx

i think the 2002 have the rev limiter set at 7800 rpm...which means that it is allmost impossible to stay on lift from the 1 to 2 shift....

Well that is the down to the 2002. Road and Track could only get 0-60 in 8.1 seconds. I thought there was more than just the rev limiter but I might be wrong. Try using the search function and look up things about 2002. There's craploads of info there.

dont worry about he 0-60 dude.. if you wanna know how fast your car is do the following:

go up to 71 mph in 5th gear.
press clutch pedal and go into neutral.
rev up to 6500 RPM, then quickly press the clutch pedal and throw it into 3rd (rev matching)...
as soon as you feel it in gear gun it.... large grin afterwards not included!

here is some tips from my 2 1/2 yrs of driving 2000 celica GT-S.
1. Don't Powershift.. you'll more than likely to misshift.
2. Don't race with your car every weekend.
3. If you have a brand new vehicle than don't rev ur engine over 4k rpm and don't go over 80mph for long time.

5. Remember that you have 36,000 mile warranty.. that covers all the interior stuff and 60,000 power train warranty.. which covers ur transmission engine and other components.
6. If you think your vehicle have defects than don't hesitate, take it to the dealer ASAP and let them look at it for FREE.
7. Dealer has to fix ur problem for free under warranty if something happens to your car. like misshift,blown engine, if you can't shift correctly.. etc
8. Lower your vehicle.. 1st step in aftermarket modification
9. Get Injen RD CAI with Heat/Water shield.. you'll feel your car accerate much faster.
10. Get an exhaust
11. you're car is faster than most Integras and Civics so if your friends beg you to race.. Than say this "I don't race slow cars" haha in fact.. your car is capable of beating Z28's and Other V8 American Muscle cars except Mustang GT and Cobra.
