New sound system

Hi....all you out there with sound sytem. I'm looking to spend around 300 - 1000 on a new system. I don't know if that a lot of money to spend. But the main thing i'm want to ask is that, those of you that have a system. Do you still use ur old speaker from the car or have you taken it out already ? Also ...what type of setup should I get....cause don't think it good to go to a sound place them to get one for me cause I don't know the cost of it and might get ripped off. So any one with any suggestion ?

Think i'm looking for a sub and amp and dont' know what type of speakers.

The place which i work can give you a really good deal on all the Speakers, Sub and woofer and AMp too. Of Course we will install it too. But it really depend what brand you want. Oh yeah it's in CA. And we won't ripped you off.
