I was wondering how those who are putting out enough bass to vibrate the rear license plate keep it from vibrating. Does a license plate frame keep it from vibrating? Or do you have to stick like some padding between the plate and car? Thanks.

they make dynamat for your liscense plate. when i used to work in a car audio place, that solved the problem all the time...

I wrapped electrical tape around the edges of the license plate (mostly to keep them from scratching the car, not to fend off rattles). My license plate frame keeps anyone from seeing this ghetto solution. :D

Thanks for the replies, guys. I want to try and stay with the no license plate frame look, so I'll look into this dynamat stuff.

Just to save you some dough...

I have no frame, and no rattles. My car came with two rubber pads under the plate. Does yours not have these? Anyway, they prevent my plate from rattling.

Yes, I have the foam thingys but they are more in the middle of my plate. The bottom edge of my plate is vibrating. It's not that it's touching the trunk, but it's just like vibrating in the air and makes a sound. I was thinking about just shoving more padding (either closed or open cell foam) around the edges. If that doesn't work, then that dynamat stuff looks like it should work. There is actually a kit for license plates.

You ever been to Home Depot? Buy a package of those Felt Pads you put under your chairs as NOT to scratch the hardwood floors? They are like $2 for 16 or something. Much cheaper than dynamat and the same effect.

I have that foam weatherstripping inusulation you buy on a roll at home depot. The kind that is sticky on one side. Works like a charm.
