this should probably go in the forced induction forum, but i could be wrong...my question is where the hell is the turbo for our cars...its been 2-3 years, hello aftermarket support, help us out...

I dont think anyone, anywhere ever tried it (if they did, they never posted here). Supposedly there's one in NYC that's like 350 HP, but I'll see it to believe it.

damn I have been trying to hold back for so long but I cant do it anymore and I dont have pics yet but I have ordered an XS turbo kit through a shop called Hypersports racing they hae a website but there is nothing really on it kypersportracing.com they are on the island of oahu in the state of hawaii you can call them and confirm it otherwise look in the hawaii forum I have talked about it alot on here. my old car crashed and I am now getting another celica gts except 6 spd this time, anyways with the turbo I am working with the shop to test out how far the stock engine can go and we may end up blowing it but that is ok cause i have3 the motor from my old celi gts which is fine after the crash. as for all the people who will inevitably flame me for posting without pics,( I DONT HAVE THE KIT YET IT IS ON ITS WAY I MAY BE ABLE TO SCAN A PIC OF THE RECEIPT FROM THE SHOP BUT OTHERWISE NO PICS UNTIL IT IS INSTALLED OK) I am just doing this to help out the guy who posted. Pepsiman the way iam going with the turbo is tuning the engine up quite severely but leaving the stock compression ratio as far as I know, and I will be going for 350 horsepower at the wheels on stock internals for racing and around 300 for daily driving if this is not obtainable then I have a full set of je rods and pistons and new valves, retainers and springs at which point I will try and push the system to 400+ at the wheels I will be getting a quaiffe lsd and prob act clutch, and we are looking into replacing the drive axels. hope that helps for imformation about what type of turbo and such read the article about their turbo celica on xs-engineering.com it is the same kit as far as I know also to control it at first I will be using an apexi avc-r and eventually go to full engine management, further to anyone who wants to say no pics nomod or believe it when I see it shutup I have heard it a thousand times save your breath and go do something useful instead of complaining about not having FI and then flaming everyone who says they are working on it.
thankyou very much
Erich Atherton Deines,
ps if anyone has more detailed questions about the car address them to edeines99@hotmail.com

Those are a couple of the longest sentences I have ever seen. What happened to your punctuation?

I heard the turbo doesnt work well with lift in GT-S which is why blitz is pushing for the s/c

Kaizer-Souze, whats yer ETA on this being complete??

Kaizer-Souze
04-10-2002, 12:27 AM
well first larry thankyou for not doubting my sincerity and as far as completion goes I ordered the kit march 20th or there abouts, and they told me it would take one month for kit arrival. and as pure coincidence I pick up my new car the weekend of april 20th so if it is in then the car will be completed by the end of april and believe me the first thing I do will get pictures and dyno graphs as well as maybe timeslips when I recieve my new rims with some nitto meat on them. Anyways to make along story short it will be completed by the end of april possibly early may and will be finished tuning and testing by the end of may no BS.

why thinking about going back to a celica now:) so I will let anyone no but just to clarify as far as you know I would be the second turbo gts ohh that is going to feel great

its ok pepsi because my friend totaled my 2001 gts so now I get a replacement engine for a real ycheap price so it is all covered plus who knows if that will be bad or not not many if any have ever tried

yep hehe

however I believe all the risk is worth it, finally people with their vette's and camaro's as well as integras and even some supras will al know that the celica has the ability and the following to backhand them all over the tracks and the streets! atleast this is my hope

thanks man but hypersport is pretty confident that this is all withinthere reach and I am trusting of them so hopefully I won't need any:confused: but I do promise that I will make sure that everyone sees how this turns out

Kaizer-Souze
04-16-2002, 01:35 AM
well for an update it will eb a little longer than anticipated aparently it iwll take another month to ge the turbo in, I am not sure why it is going to take two instead of the one they promised but anyways that is where it stands but Iwill be beginning work on my old engine soon hopefully

well got the new car and I have begun breaking it in just ordered internals today also so that should arrive in sinc with the turbo:)

You know I think this is all kinda wierd because the guy from XS was just on here the other day talking about how they haven't even released the kit yet, but they ARE planning on releasing it. Hold on I will find the post.

Tony01Gts
04-22-2002, 10:04 PM
here is the link

http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17353&highlight=turbo

This guy XSPOWER who is supposedly from XS is saying that the kit will not even be released until the end of summer. I'm not trying to sink your ship but it looks like you won't have a turbo this week, and if you do it may not be xs engineering.

Kaizer-Souze
04-22-2002, 10:35 PM
yeah I know tony it is a little weird to me to but I just checked in with the guys at hypersport on oahu this weekend and they said it was on the way so I am believing them right now and the rest of my stuff is on the way too including all new internals

Tony01Gts
04-23-2002, 08:10 AM
Well I wish you the best of luck man, I hope everything works out. Out of curiousity, how much did all the new internals you ordered run, and will they lower the compression of your engine? I am thinking about going FI sometime here, and I'm trying to figure out how much it will cost to do it right.

Xracer729
04-23-2002, 01:39 PM
OK if there are still arent any widy avlible turbo kits by the time i can drive and if they dont change the celica too much for 2004(or 06) i will try and get some $$$$ and i will design a kit
(but thats a lot of waiting to do)

Tony01Gts
04-23-2002, 02:00 PM
WHAT??? Are you 14? I'm not understanding...

XSPOWER
04-24-2002, 12:35 AM
Just to clear this up for you guys: Hypersports is a shop in Hawaii that we do alot of business with. They will be recieving a pre-production system and they will be doing the installation. We trust Hyper because they are capable of quality work so they are getting the last pre-production system on the shelf. Unfortunately because of our move, no more systems will be produced until summer.

Tony01Gts
04-24-2002, 04:36 AM
That is awesome news for you Kaiser-Souze! Way to go, you are a lucky ****! So how much is everything costing you?

Kaizer-Souze
04-24-2002, 11:20 AM
well thanks xspower if you are who you say you are then this makes me really happy cause I wa sbeginning to doubt whether they could get it or not but now I am feeling alot better.

the internals cost about 1000 for rods and pistons I believe and like 1300 for the full valve trainI believe, I believe I am not completely sure the receipts are at my house on oahu I will let you know next time I go home which will be the weekend after this coming one

Kaizer-Souze
04-24-2002, 11:22 AM
Hey XSPOWER when you say pre production does that mean either it is the kit that will be sold however I am getting it early or that it is at prototype stage and there may be changes when it goes into production. thanks for the info

Tony01Gts
04-24-2002, 12:58 PM
Man... my mom just moved off of Oahu she lived in Haliewa on the north shore, too bad she moved. When I came to visit you would have to take me for a spin in your turbo GTS! Do the rods and pistons you got lower compression?

Kaizer-Souze
04-24-2002, 07:22 PM
as far as I know the rods and pistons dont lower compression, the guys at hypers are convinced that lowering the compression is not a good thing since it is easier to make power at higher compression. However I am leaving all that up to their capable hands. Yeah too bad your mom moved my grandparents still live up around there in the summer, but I am moving too, going to CU boulder school of business come august so if you are anywhere up near colorado or west coast cause I will be traveling to west coast alot then you are welcome to check it out any time

High Compression + Turbo = BOOM!

808QwkSlvr
04-24-2002, 11:43 PM
No, you cvan reliably run low PSI at high compression if you do it right. YOu cant slap any old turbo on there and such. Then you get boom. You have to watch your cooling too.

Tony01Gts
04-25-2002, 10:56 AM
808 are you getting the kit as well?

Kaizer-Souze
04-25-2002, 11:30 AM
I hope so i would like another celica in the 808 to run against before I leave. but as for install I am leaving that up to the very capable hands of chad and mike at hypersports, they are very compitent about what they are doing and if xs has enough faith to sell them the last pre production copy available then I have to trust in their abilities

808QwkSlvr
04-25-2002, 03:01 PM
Yes, i am going to buy the same kit...from the same shop too.:burnout:

Kaizer-Souze
04-25-2002, 08:11 PM
fun fun fun when do you think you will be ready to order and are you keeping stock internals or upgrading especially since I no longer have a spare engine so I wont be testing the limits on stock internals any more

808QwkSlvr
04-26-2002, 02:11 AM
Well, the navy deemed it necessary that I go to a school till August so not until then at minimum. I know it is a long ways off but i have waited this long. I dont know when XS will be done with the relocation so i might have to wait even longer or i might get back and find that alot of people have it already. Makes no difference to me. I will be running stock internals. I will be adding an LSD, lighter flywheel and better clutch. I dont want to go to far seeing as this is my daily driver. Not too long after that i will be adding 4 piston 13 in brakes on all 4 corners. Of course i will have the required guages too, that goes without saying. I am also talking to a local business about having some carbon fiber work done. Lots of plans for the future but the Navy pays the bills so its plans come first. :burnout:

Kaizer-Souze
04-27-2002, 03:11 AM
well that works I remember when I first went into hypers to bring up the subject they mentioned you I believe, said a military guy may be really close to getting one I just assumed that is you this would have been along time ago though, and unfortunately this has to stay a daily driver for me too so I am going to be very cautious about how I run this thing even with new internals, well atleast tell I can get a truck for colorado then I can really have some fun :)

Kaizer-Souze
04-27-2002, 10:49 AM
yeah well dont get the wrong idea I dont have any more I am pennyless ..... literaly after all this stuff gets put in. So if anything breaksdown, all I have is a really expensive piece of lawn art:)

I have a magazine that isnt too popular but features a gt-s turbo ill see if i can scan it and post it... The mag is called "Import Racer" The front looks really cheesy but has some cool stuff inside... ill see what i can do

Kaizer-Souze

Kaizer-Souze
04-28-2002, 05:41 PM
never mind saw the thread but yeah it is only a gt

Tony01Gts
04-28-2002, 07:31 PM

04-29-2002, 07:49 AM
Hey, mo cool, you gonna get da KINE!!!

Heheheh...

Anyways, you guys are the shiznit. I absolutely love the fact that we're gonna have TWO celicas (the other one doesn't count because it's just a show car, but that's his prerogative) that are gonna be out on the streets tearing it up. The Celi is still a bad azz car. It just needs a little more up and go (hence N20 for me, since I'm a cheap bastiche) :gap:

Way to go, I say. And good luck.

If everything turns out right, I just might consider using part of my bonus to finally get a turbo, but I'm still leaning heavily towards modifiying the REX first.

Lataz,

yeah I know the alt celica is a gts tony but the one he was talking about was the blue turbo gt that was in import racer a while back.

yeah I that unfortunately may be true but I will be putting this in to a 02 model so it will be hard ot mishift but even with stock compression that just means i will need less boost ot obtain what I want so as I believe it this means less lag which is better and if I have proper cooling it should be fine also the internals shoule bd able to handle some pressure they are all being replaced except the crank and it may get replaced too
