You have a better system. I'm curious why you were asking.

Scott,
As a racer, do you like or dislike the distributor-less setup? I would think having one would make tuning easier.

It flooded near here and I was on my way out and the water was just barely up to the bottom of my car. everything was cool until this subaru outback drove by coming the other way and was going at least 10-20 mph and caused a huge wake that covered my car with water. I think that something got wet underneath it. i do not believe i got water in my engine though. what should i do? I mean would something be wet that will not allow it to start? The sound it makes is the starter churns but the engin does not start at all or even try so i am thinking it is electrical

Good idea. I hope your car comes out okay. Just let it dry out tomorrow. This morning was nasty coming into work. Glad I moved this weekend.

you have a direct ignition system i believe is what it's called. we can't adjust timing with it(without the aid of a piggyback ecu). we dont have plug wires, we do have a separte coil for every plug, which you should pray never screws up cause they are 180 a piece...
you would have to drive through a small lake and have the filter compeltly submerged to drink water.... i'm pretty sure you're just fine. it sounds like your battery is dead... did you check that?

i have my battery charging now because i can turn the car's power on and the radio comes on and all but my windows row down slowly. I am not sure what it is!! everything looks fine!! It has to be something that the starter goes to because i can hear the starter turning but there is nothing from the engine. I'll never buy another car with soooo much electrical stuff, i just want to go back to the older cars that are nothing but power and dont require on board computers and crap :(

I'm sure your car is going to be fine. Just finish charging the battery and make sure there's no more water in your intake hose. Good luck. Maybe I'll see you around town sometime.

yeah I hope so. By the way do you think that Toyota has a sensor on the sar that when it gets wet disables the vehicle so it cannot be started to prevent flooding?
