i just found out that the new Matrix XRS 4X2 has the same engine as the Celica GTS. The matrix has 1.8 VVTL-i engine with 180 horsepower and 130 torque just like the Celica. the funny thing is that the maximum hp and torque is at the same rpm as the celica. there is one little difference. the matrix is heavier than the celica by 300 pounds, not much. so if you race a matrix, better watch out! why are they upping the horsepower of all these new cars?!?! also how come the matrix is so much cheaper than the celica. the 1.8 180hp matrix is top of the line and it only costs 18k

b/c toyota is nothing more than a bunch of d|ckheads with no plan whatsoever. This is why I just lost total interest in the car and hope to sell it soon.

NO kidding.

but MarkyMark and the funky bunch bring up a great point. Toyota is f'n stupid right now. Unbelievable. The only reason I'm happy that station wagon is around is crossover performance parts.

off the top of my head (figuring i'm an everday average person)

KEYWORD BEING NEW, more choices = category is more in demand by public.

new turbo cars $30k or under:

1) WRX
2) EVO
3) Neon SRT

new CARS (sport compacts) $25k or under:

1) Tiburon GT (v6 model)
2) Senta SE-R Spec V
3) Matrix/Vibe/Celica (obviously this doesn't belong here as this is supposed to be coupes/compacts only, but toyota gave it the performance to belong here and keeps marketing it aggressively even within this category, perhaps to maybe get the guys who want a wagon/hatch but also want say, a celica, but the celica is too 'rough' for them in terms of ride/handling/space, and on that note, anyone else notice how the GTS tears apart every other new contender when it's put on a track? when is that RSX-R coming? i miss the ITR)
4) Neon SRT

new sporty wagon/hatches $25k or under:

1) SVT Focus and regular Focus
2) Civic Si
3) Matrix/Vibe (this is actually two)
4) Protege 5 and the mp3 i think
5) WRX (heh, best of both worlds)
6) Aerio

new sporty SUVs:

1) Porsche Cayenne
2) Matrix/Vibe (isn't an SUV, but they are marketing it to that demographic as well, and who the hell can afford a goddamn cayenne?)

new economy cars that aren't boring.

1) Altima (ok, everyone knows this thing will tear through a quarter mile, but it still belongs here)
2) Matrix/Vibe/Corolla (it just wants to have fun :) but it's still boring, but if you don't want a boring corolla, might want to opt for a 'corolla matrix' which is the car's official name)
3) Sentra
4) Focus ZX3

new car buyers that just aren't sure which category is right for them?

1) Everybody but that guy Bob.
2) Bob.

company that stands to make most money (ranked)? (mostly my opinion)

1) Toyota/Pontiac (Matrix/Vibe)
2) Subaru (WRX)
3) Dodge (Neon SRT)/Mitsubishi (EVO)

ok i think you get the point.

6) ?Mustang Mach 1? (what's gonna make this special?)

NEW possibly exotic RUMORED sports cars that will probably come out

1) Toyota Supra/4000GT/4500GT/nobodyknows (rumor has it there might be two, a supra successor, and a $100k+ exotic, the one i'm referring to here would be the former)
2) Dodge Razor (i hear good things)
3) Pontiac Solstice (a big IF)
4) new vette with 400+hp

NEW exotic RUMORED sports cars

1) Toyota Supra/4000GT/4500GT/nobodyknows (this would be the exotic)
