Just wondering if anyone has tried these to get aftermarket speakers to fit in the celica. I found them at sounddommain.com. Here's the link: http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/list/t/Custom-Fit%20Speaker%20Adapters (http://) Thanks

keep the 6 1/2's, nice sized speaker, limited distortion rates compared to some 6x9's

Would these work for aftermarket speakers? Since the aftermarket speaker mounting brackets do not fit the stock speaker holes, do you use these things to make them fit? Sorry if I confused you.

The existing holes in the sheet metal are round. Those brackets that you link to appear to fill an oval hole to put in a round speaker.

i have some schoshe adapters for the 2001 celica. i haven't used them, nor do i know how the hell they're supposed to work. they will fit the 3 holes for the factory speaker and have a hole for a 6 and a half, but they don't really have holes to mount the speaker. they have little slats. maybe you're supposed to just screw into the plasic i suppose. it didn't seem like that would hold them very tight so i never used em. plan on just using some mdf and cutting it.

J3adSeed Is it possible to drill holes in the adapters to allow the aftermarket 6.5" to be secured? The adaptors are plastic right? Please let me know any other info you got. Thanks.
