After four months to get the bumper in from Japan, the body is pretty much where I want it.

hehe damn dude, I see someone was taking pics at Kahala?? The front is JDM C-ONE, the sides are actually LarryD's Molly sides repainted silver. The car looks great in person... definitely very unique, and hard to reproduce. ;)
Great pics Kev!

Yep, they're real JDM. It's actually just the lens that's tinted slightly, and with a blue tinge to it. That, and the lens over the tun signal is different. I dunno how you'd be able to reproduce that by taking it apart and painting it. :(

Thanks for all of the comments, I was worried about combining that many kits. Now if I could find a wing and rims that don't overpower the look of the car. Is the M-spec available or, is it going to be a pipe dream?

Now all I have to do is get it to LA. I'm a little nervous about putting it on a cargo boat. The good news is they are putting in a cargo box so at least it won't be exposed to the elements on the trip there.

The C-One bumper comes unpainted btw. It almost fits better than the factory bumper too. Though for $750.00 it should fit well! :D The paint is a dead on match I was really impressed on how close they can get it to the factory paint. The side skirts are off a bit though, they said something about a scratch guard cover on the bottom half of the sides. They offered to buff it off I just haven't had time to go back and have it done yet.

Yep, whenever someone moves from Hawaii to the continental U.S. we gotta ship our cars by boat. It sucks, and costs a lot. Luckily Kev secured a good job from a company that will be shipping his car and everything else at their own expense.

what i want to know is if that's vinyl on the rear windshield. from what i remember from the postert kit, the third brakelight cover looked much more like the carcept roof spoiler. also, how was the install? any drilling?
QWKsilvr808
04-10-2002, 09:49 PM
It's not vinyl... both the hatch spoiler and third brakelight cover are fibreglass. My friend at the bodyshop molded a custom platform so that he could use double-stick tape to mount the hatch spoiler, and double stick was also used on the brakelight I believe.

My silver looks off in the sun too. I think it just has to do with the color changing properties of our color. If you get in a well lit garage and stand behind the car, look at the wing, and where the fenders really start to bend. As light hits it at a large angle, it almost gets purple looking.

yeah the front bumper looks mis-matched at first. But notice the driver side blends flawlessly to the body. Its just shading and shadows. It looks hot man, much props on the originality. Might want to check out some Tantrums for the car, had them on my celica and they went with the car so nicely. can see a pic of the rid here

wax your car really good, surround it with plastic bags (but leave some holes at the bottom for "breathing") and then put it in the container for shipment. should suffice.
