Hey guys..
Quick question for u.. what's the trick to removing the rear view mirror from the windshield (not the base.. it unclips somehow..)? Just wanna see if anyone knows before I go start screwing around with something and break it ;)

get a system with subs, and pump your base loud, REAL LOUD (on a hot day)...that will make it fall off, so i have heard from ppl, but thats the whole mirror...

My dad's Sienna's rear view mirror fell off after 4 years. Just give it time! ;)

Actually, I don't think you can easily unclip the mirror (if we have the same type as the Sienna). When he went to glue it back on, he had a hell of a time removing the mirror from the base (the whole mirror was too heavy to stick on). The part that is glued to the window is underneath the base of the mirror. Hard to get to. Even harder to separate.

I can definitely say this is true.. before I had my windshield replaced (cracked) my subs broke the old base..

I KNOW you can remove it somehow.. you can unclip it from the base.. but there is a trick to it. When they replaced my old windshield they unclipped my rearview mirror from the base and clipped it on to the new one.. Too bad I didn't pay more attention. I'd drop into that place but its over an hour away.. dammit.. SOMEBODY must know! :wtc:

unscrew the screw then slide it off. Thats if you got the temp gauge one.

w/out a temp gauge, (i know cuz i watched my windshield get replaced when my cf hood broke it)

i believe it just slides up, then there's something on the windshield that's stuck on, like the sliders for the actual mirror

hmm.. thanks guys. I'll check it out tommorrow then. I don't have the temp gauge one.. If all I hafta do is slide it up it should be a breeze (I hope). The "sliders" that are stuck on the windshield I can leave on..

um, if u guys were wondering why I'm asking this it's because I'm gunna put a vinyl strip on my window, but I wanted to do it on the inside so it doesn't get scratched to hell :)
