I have no points on my license, great student (discount!), and never received a movin violation ticket or any of the sort yet the prices Im getting for Insurance quotes are staggering for 6months talk less of the year. Is there anyone under 25 on here who is paying their own insurance???
What company are u using?
This blows!

Yeah, I pay my own. I'm 23 and it's $1600 for the year I believe, FULLY insured. I have to look up the details when I get home. I'm so not on top of my shit right now.
The only reason why it's so low is because I have been under my mom's name since I was 17, and they gave me a nice discount since I've been with them for 6 years. Funny, cuz even though her insurance put me unde her name (cuz I lived with her), the Celica was always insured under my dad's name (his rates were cheaper).

I'm 24, was paying $3500/year under Allstate, then when Geico became available in NJ I switch and am now paying $1700/year fully insured (including rims/bodykit).
When I got my first Celica at 21, I was paying $4200...

But I finally turned 25, no accidents for over 4 years, no points or moving violations, my sister got me a quote from a friend of her @ all state @ 1600 a year, I will find out the details Manny, and if u are interested I will put in touch with her and just tell her that u are my sister's friend. not much man... same old! you? i would do it, but after seeing how mine turned out, i dont know if i did something right... the inside is all faded and yellow.. i hate my headlights now. i would do anything to have a normal set of headlights again
on that note, does anyone in the NE have a set of spare headlights they wanna sell? in good condition?

Yeah, Geico allows you to insure aftermarket modifications. I claimed $2500 between my wheels/bodykit/hood and it only cost me like an extra $40/year...

It doesn't matter. They asked me if I had any aftermarket parts, I said yes. I have wheels. They didn't ask what kind, they just asked me how much are they worth. I replied with $1500, and she followed by saying that would cost me an extra $5 for the year. I was like, um, yeah... sure!
They also took a pic of my car a week later, but not because of the wheels, just because they require a picture of the car they're insuring, and it needs to be inspected inside and out. I think all NY insurance comapanies require that.
The way I figure it is if my wheels got stolen (God forbid), how can they prove if I sold them or they got jacked. Either way I don't have said wheels anymore.
