Well it finally happened...damn thiefs

well once everyone saw my c-one hood when i got it, i had quite a few people mention to me that you could plainly see the oil filler cap and how easy it would be for someone to jack.

so i'm driving down the road and notice a bunch of dirty spots on my windshield and when i try to wipe it clean with the wipers it just smears...i really wasn't sure what it was and when i pulled in the gas station to get gas and clean it off i notice it all over my hood ect...

well it turns out someone stole the cap off and i had been driving around without it. immediately i go home and put the stock one back on and top it off with fresh oil (i hadn't lost too much, took one quart to refil)

to top it off i now had oil all in my engine bay and on my hood. basically everywhere. how can people be so f@#%ing gay to actually do something like that. i'm just glad i noticed it soon enough and didn't loose all my oil and completely blow my engine.

so now i'm wondering....are there any caps that might lock or something so i don't have to worry about this bull****!

Just use stock and put the other one on for meets/shows/etc. At least if you had a metal cap, the guy would've burned the crap out of his hand while taking it off. :chuckles:

It probably didn't even fit the guys car after he stole it.

You could keep a spare with you and try to check it before you get in.

Or you could drill a hole in one of the grips and run a tether to a bolt somewhere near by.

How about this:

Get a metal cap with a rubber gasket. Run a line from the live wire of your battery to the cap. The gasket will insulate the engine from the charge. But the thief will become a nice conductor.

On top of that...he will hopefully try to steal it when it's hot.

Really sorry to hear about that bro. I worried about that with my C-One hood as well. I took off my TRD oil cap and just bought a cheap eBay metal cap. Anodized blue to match my engine bay. it's nice enough for me :thumbup:

Yes, thieves suck!!!!!! Someone tried to break into my car last Sunday night. Alarm went off before they could even get close to opening the door, but there is a small pry mark on the plastic piece above the passenger side window. I dont think they will be back though. Something about 6 Labs chasing you down the street and 12 gauge buckshot flying across your face!!!!:gap:

Yeah, definately make a black grill or something and cover that vent up. You seriously don't know what else other people would do to your engine bay. A lot of people just have idiotic minds to eff with someone's car.

but for now, just get a cheap and/or metal cap, maybe have the stock in the car as spare. and get a replacement for the stolen, but only use it at shows as suggested.

you should order a piece that rmm sells. the black grill stuff is nice and its powercoated black. that would look good.
