Is it just me or is the Celica becoming an everyday car...? I used to get lots of props/looks/etc. on it. First thing someone would say when they saw it was "WOW, great car...!" Now it seems to get nothing. People get in my car and never say a thing... I feel like Im driving something as normal as a Civic or a Neon. Its just a car, I really don't care... but for $25k I was hoping to be cool for atleast 2 years...

i guess it depends on how it looks.... i still get lots of looks and comments...

try driving through san francisco w/your autox numbers on your car... that turns some heads :)

i think the spoiler adds a lot! my car was stock before, not much looks, occasional "wows" by little kids. then i got my kit, but took off my spoiler, only got looks from those who know about fixing up cars. then i get my TRD spoiler, and i see everyone turning their heads looking at my car. jeez is it that much different?! hehe its all good, as long as nobody bashes my car.

if you want people to look, get fatty decals. like the pro/celebrity celica decals. or the sick ass green/red castrol stickers (i would SO get those heheheeh)

i get complements on mine all the time still.... a wing is really needed on a stock celica but i like mine without it... believe it or not i get alot of complements on how my car looks without a wing.... but i could care less... i'd trade all my "looks" mods right now for a turbo/supercharger

when i first got the car i got a couple looks but not much.
added stuff after stuff and it was at the kit with rims exhaust and stock spoiler.
i got tons of looks then.
but once i added the rmm spoiler, hood scoop, and side decals i cant get anywhere without getting a question or comment....

a stock celica is plain now but one thats fixed up is a completly different thing

Um, welcome to the real world.

Toyota never intended the Celica to be rare. They want one in every driveway.

Go trade in for a MR2 Spyder, production numbers are limited, there isn't one on every corner and I still haven't seen a modded one. Resale is also phenomonal. New: $23,000, 2 years old $20,000.

Don't know man. I've had mine for over 2 years.. and I still get looks... girls seem to like the noise :D.. but seriously man.. we're not driving porsches here or some exotic cars.. these are very affordable cars for lots of people.. eventually they won't be that big of a deal.. but they still turn heads because they don't look bland like other cars out there.

The MR2 Spyder is pretty common here. We have about 3 or 4 in town. But Celica's are like Civic's. Everyone has a kit and exhaust. All modded. Oh well.

yeah dude, I know what you're talking about. I was one of the 7g innovators, probably the 2nd person in my surrounding town area who got the new celica....now there's a ton of them, 90% are GT's. It really is a common, mainstream car that people dont stare at anymore. Beyond that, the 160 to the wheels just doesnt cut it for me, and I'm just a turbo/performance fan

I get a lot of looks and stares especially when the windows are down and the hood is up. I went to get gas last week and took a half an hour to leave. Everyone I mean everyone including the attendent just wouldn't let me leave. The more I mod the more I like the car. Someone said to me "If you want a fast car why don't you a stang?" I said, "I bought the car for it's handling but I will get out of it's own way when I need it to."

Hehe. Stangs. I laugh at kids when they say that. I know there are alot of fast as hell stangs out there. But I slay more than enough on most nights.

Anyway, I get tons of compliments and stares everytime I take the car out. But most Celicas will be more and more common. It's natural. It's not the newest or latest car to come out anymore. And you need as many cars on the road as possible if you want aftermarket support. Get used to it. If you want to stand out you gotta be different and unique. And not just a little different or unique either.

They certainly don't act like they do. Lack of support, overpriced (compared to Matrix), no where near as hyped and advertised as the Matrix was before release, etc.

I still love looking at and getting in and driving my car, so that's all that matters.

I have owned 12 different cars in my live and have driven well over a 100 different cars. I will say this is one car that ranks in my top 5 list.

95 to 95.5 Lotus Esprit S4s
GMC Syclone or Typhoon
Buick Grand National
88 Celica All-Trac Turbo
2000 Celica GTS

I have 2 of the already and will have the other 3 in the next 5 years then my garage will be perfect.

Ive had my car for about 6 months, and have gotten maybe 2 comments. No one cares where I live. I want a jet.

I still see way more Celicas than Integras everyday. But I live on a side of town with lots of new cars. 80% of them are the GT model. Most are driven by women. Just my observations. Yes, they are getting very common after 3 years of sales.
