Okay, I don't know about anyone else, but every time I get my tires balanced from some backwards place the steering wheel shakes even more. So does anyone have a place that they would recommend. I live in the Providence/R.I. Milford/Ma area.
Any time I question them on why my steering wheel vibrates, they say its balanced at 65. My response is, who the hell drives at 65. Some places do an okay job, and the vibration stops, but then the guy gets fired, or quits and I get stuck with joe schmo and it just isn't the same.

i dont really understand how tire balancing works. i think the tire can still wobble when balanced.

someone recommended going to the dealer to me. he said he tried several tire places without luck and finally went to the dealer and his shimmy problem was gone. they charge $20 per tire though.

I'm getting it done at Atlantic Toyota tomorrow for $40. This includes computerized wheel alignment, computerized balancing, rotation and inspection of tires, and brake inspection.

Thanks. I just had them balanced, and there is no shimmy at 65 but soon as you get 70 and above it comes back worse than it was to begin with. hahahah. I might try the dealership, since my car will be going back in on wednesday.

make sure you have the same tire pressure on both sides of the car

Do you have a bent rim? Maybe you have a defective rim that is causing the shaking.

I didn't go because I couldn't wake up.

Naw, haven't really drank much since new years. I'm just not a morning person so it's hard for me to wake up Saturday morning unless I really really had to.
