What state is the 410 area code located in? Also, can anyone find email contact info on the site? I can't seem to find one.

from their site, it looks like they do primarily VW tuning. they have a bunch of "projects" with acura/honda, toyota, etc though so maybe they are trying to break out to the rest of the market. If we give them some support maybe they'll actually release this thing.

the parts list sounds a bit expensive:

* EIP forged pistons
* EIP 4340 chromemoly rods
* EIP pro sleeved block
* EIP copper gasket
* EIP ported and swirl polished cylinder head
* EIP front mount intercooler
* EIP mandrel bent intercooler piping
* TEC III stand alone engine management

expensive, yeah.. but worthwhile/reliable? most likely

Yeah, I'm willing to pay top dollar for a setup thats really good. We need more forced induction packages like these guys are working on, where they just try to make a great setup instead of worrying about bringing it to the market at the lowest cost possable. Right now I'm still planning on getting the Blitz SC because I know that it is a high quality unit, not because it is going to be cheap.

I think that the main reason that we don't see many forced induction kits actually making it to the market is because the companies think that the customers won't be willing to pay for the product given the amount of power increase it provides. I think that when they start digging into it and see that the kit is going to end up needing to be sold for between 5K and 6K for them to make a profite, and the kit puts out under 100 extra horse power, they decide to just not release a kit at all. That's just my personal speculation, but if I'm right, I wish that they would let me make that decision for myself. :)

I remember reading somewhere that the blitz sc only put like 245 to the flywheel?
is this true or am I on crack again?

$H!T i was at EIP tuning months ago. I asked if they would use my car for the turbo manufacture. I was only a few days late asking them! They said that they found a celi already just a few days before! D@mn it!!! I thought that it just fell through because i haven't heard anything about it. But this is cool. I guess that there is a lot to that "being in the right place at the right time" quote.
BTW, they have a nice facility out in a tiny a$$ town. I saw a few of their display cars and they were TOP notch. All were VW's though. Can't wait for it to be finished!

wow.. EIP isnt that far south of me either.. figures :).. one thing to keep in mind is the kit that they made for the Echo that was posted before cost around 7000 if I recall..

Here is some details I found out about the kit: price around $6000, that does not include any internals, although the will sell them and have them availible if you will like. The turbo a T3. They already have a stand alone fuel management system called the tec-III. Price is $1995. Thats availible now. One thing I forgot to ask is if the 6k includes that tec-III. They say there standard kit runs at about 7-9 pounds of boost so it probably does include that.

If that price doesn't include the tec-III or the internals, then it's pretty much the same thing as the XS Kit. It looks pretty high quality, though. Can't wait to get more info.

I dont know why everyone is going crazy about internals on these motors. I have a turbocharged 2001 MR2 spyder and I run up to 8psi on 93 octane with No problems. There is another turbo spyder owned be Kaz on Spyderchat and he is running like 20psi ON STOCK INTERNALS. MVA racing did his setup (very expensive but great work Ive heard) they tore down his engine and the Rods, bearings and pistons were fine! He plans on running like 25-30psi I do believe. He is trying to get a 400-450rwhp spyder. The kit I have will put 200HP at the wheels on 5psi and I have to imagine I am at around 240 when I creep to 8psi.

The internals on these motors are fine for this kind of boost the limiting factor with these kits are proper engine managament (ie fuel and timing adjustment). Fuel with the PE kit I have is handled by a in tank boost sensitive regulator (gives enough fuel for up tp 8psi) so the problem is to keep stock timing (aggressive) and put on a boost sensitive retard device. I will soon have one of these as J&S SAFEGUARD is prototyping one now for a 4 coil toyota ignition (thanks to Joel -a perfectionist spydercaht member). This will be about 600.00.

a few people have been running turboed spyders for over a year without a prob.
So you can have a reliable turboed 1zz (up to 8-9psi) for about 4K.

yellowspy,
Do you think the company that made your turbo kit can revise the piping and release it for the Celica GT also? Can you post pics of your setup? That would be tight! Thanks, man.

I dont have a digital camara, but go to spdyerchat and check out the posts by Joel he has the same kit.
The kit is made by Power Enterprises in Japan. I havent a clue if they are making anything for the celica. I would email them and ask.

Eip makes alot of parts for our cars.

They have a head that includes valves,springs,retainers and all that good stuff for $1095. They say it puts down over 20 hp at the wheels maybe more with intake and exhuast.

Also 6 different types of clutches'

not to mention fuel injectors and a fuel rail.

and last but not least a stand alone ecu that you can adjust everything including the vvtl-i crossover.

The turbo Echo has 172 wheel horsepower?!

That's got to be the ultimate embarassment for an unsuspecting domestic driver to pull up to a light and get smoked by an Echo. :burnout:

All EIP parts are for sale man. Eveything they have in their celica is for sale. They can easily reproduce it.
