View Full Version : Bumper Limp ripped off!

So I am heading home from washing my car, taking the highway. Traveling behind an SUV that had a truck infront of him. The truck infront of him, his tire blew and shredded pieces all over our lane, the SUV swerved and I didn't have time to react, nor the space to merge into the other lane and ended up taking a piece of the tire under my car. The tire hit something causing it to break and drag on the ground. So I immedialty pulled over ****ting my pants, hoping it wasn't my Greddy Exhaust - to only find it tore the bottom lip of my front bumper.
I didn't go back after the truck to get any information because he was still hauling ass down the road, so I immedialty made a call to my mother and my insurance agent who was busy (have yet to talk to). Is this possibly covered under insurance, or am I screwed?
Also, since I no longer am going to have that lip right there, all that engine plastic is probably going to take a lot of wind and begin to drag on the ground, did anyone take all of their engine plastic off? Is it safe? What am I going to do about that?
Oh yeah: Pictures...

Yeah. I'm in Harrisburg too, but I think i'm just going to go ahead and buy my Body Kit early. I wasn't planning on doing any work to it till my friend Matt was ready to put it in the garage and do all that custom stuff to it.

Haha.. yeah we do.
I'm kind of nervous about taking out all the engine plastic - considering the side that's pretty much all torn and broken is the side that has the Belts and Pulley's on it - I can only imagine what would happen worse if they took on alot of dirt or rocks.

Dude,
I had the same thing happen on my stock front. Ripped my fogs apart, under engine, scuffed the bumper, hood, fender. I got it covered by insurance. Got 1200 for the claim, minus the 500 deductable. Definately go for it.

Ooooo, that ain't pretty. Insurance will take care of that for you, that's why you have it. :)

A wings west lip only covers the stock one. I think that the TRD elegant lip is a replacement of the stock lip but you will have a hell of a time trying to find one. Damn that sucks, but do you think it was worth calling the insurance company? what is your deductible?
oh and just take the plastics off the only thing that they may cause is a little less aerodynamic efficiency, a dirtier engine over a prolonged period of time and maybe slightly higher coolant temps as they are meant to reroute incoming air however I dont believe it will have that much of an effect.
Better than paying for brand new ones that is for sure.

ill buy your engine plastics. you should take off the middle ones and leave the ones on the side for the wheel wells. if you dont take em off theyll rip off driving on the road.
