for about 6 months now my gas mileage has gotten worst. eversince the state of california dropped the octane rating from 92 to 91 i've managed to get 305-315 miles on a full tank of gas. compared to the 92 octane i was getting between 330-345 on a full tank. now i'm not sure if it's caused by me driving the car harder compared to 6 months ago, which i don't think so. i'm also judging this when the yellow light comes on with 1 bar left on the gas gauge.
have any of you experienced this at all or is it just me?

umm i have 2002 gts 6spd and i get about 380-400 miles a tank on 91 and thats when i drive it and there are no gas bars left i'm kinda waiting for the day my car dies so i can call toyota road side assistance and have them fill my tank for free!!! :p but yeah i'm not saying anything but i might (hence the words "might) be your CAI that did it cuz when i had my civic i was going 250 miles then i added CAI and Exhast and my gas when to 200 mile a tank so yeah and you have a high rev limit too hope that helps

You are probably driving it harder. I think our cars are more prone to mileage differences between highway and city, espicially if you hit lift more than a couple times. Amazingly I got 37 MPG driving through Utah and Nevada a couple weeks ago. Needless to say, I was pretty impressed because I had the cruise on about 85-90 mph almost the whole way. But I didn't hit lift once either. Who knows.

i've had the cai for a year and half now and i was still getting 330-345 when i had it on. it's been the last couple months where i saw a drop off on the mileage. maybe it's because of the way i drive, don't know. that 8300rpms can be very addictive.
