Those of you with a Pioneer deck and are able to switch out the OEL, what images are you using? Any custom ones? If so, care to share?

Nice. Which Pioneer model do you have?

Also, I just notice that my Pioneer does not turn off. Anyone knows if maybe the wiring was wrong or something? Everything else works fine. Just that when I hold down the Off button it just goes to the Demo screen.

Yes. The 8600 Premier comes with a small microphone/speaker type thing that auto equalizes based on the interior acoustic characteristics of your car. That's what I used, and my stock speakers now sound 150% better than with the stock headunit. :)

My OEL screensavers consist of the end scene of back to the future part 1, where the Delorean reaches 88mph and lightning strikes the car and leaves flame trails. (Neal, this should not surprise you :chuckles: ) Another is of Thundercats, Beavis and Butthead, my friends, my Celica, the orginal Celica commercial that Toyota released, and plenty more. I got bored one night, what can I say. :gap:

Are you talking about ASL?

:::EDIT:::
Nevermind, did some research on it. Found on the Pioneer Website
Auto EQ
Finding the "sweet spot", or optimal listening position, is complicated by sound's reflection and damping, as well as variable speaker positioning in the irregular shaped confines of a car. Such conditions tend to degrade frequency characteristics. Auto EQ automatically fine-tunes the entire range of the music's frequency bandwidth, using 13-band graphic equalization for front and rear speakers. Simply plug in the included microphone and let the frequency band fine-tuning go to work. It;s like having a sound engineer customize your in-car sound system.

Pretty damn sweet. IMHO.

Also, for whomever asked me to post up the images and stuff, I'll look for the CD Tonight... If I can't find it, I'll just try and recreate them, and post up a CD-Image somewhere.

I'm old school with the Pioneer 9300 and the CD-PC1 link kit to change the OEL displays and I don't think I'll ever get rid of it because Pioneer decreased the amount of changes you can make with the new ones. Also because Pioneer for whatever reason took out the audio "location simulator" for whatever reason with the newer ones.

I can change 3 out of 4 movies, 2 out of 4 indicators, and 9 out of 12 background pics. Not to mention that after playing around with the newer versions of the OEL Studio you don't seem to have as much customization I think they decreased the internal memory.

I wish I could post up but as I've already found out through personal research is that my pics and movies won't work for your newer units and vice-versa :(

I've got some cool self made anime pics and some of the Celica and the Matrix intro that came out really well. But I haven't made anything new in awhile. This would be a cool thread to keep going, people should post good pics or avi. of things to make movies of.

*Chelica* to turn off demo mode make sure your Pioneer is off then hold down the 6 button you should hear a beep. That will take care of that. If you are tired of the negative flip of the movies and pics hold down the 5 button when off, you'll hear another beep. ;)

T3HKMAN - Thanks for the tips. I was able to turn the Demo off by pressing diff. buttons and eventually turned it off correctly.

Right now, I am just using the stock movie. If I used custom OEL would I still be able to have the info shown on top of it? Like the track number and title and etc. Because I notice on some of the OEL, it is just the background.

It depends, there are movies, which take up the entire screen like a screensaver and no info is listed. These clips can be pretty long, like 15 seconds I believe. Then there's animations, which loop about 5 seconds or less of video. These animations serve the same purpose as a wallpaper, and it displays all the info on top just like a wallpaper.

Hi-Ho Silver what model Pioneer do you have because Pioneer still has links to the older model ones and depending on which one you have you can just DL the appropriate software to start changing screensavers.

deh p7400mp... http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4039_38156,00.html

i kinda doubt it. but where would i find the link?

Here are all the links but I'm pretty sure in your case this won't work because of the model number of your headunit. I'm almost positive that the 7400 didn't have the ability to change the graphics.

This first link is for the #300 series and the #400 series with the # being the lead number. For this link you would need the Pioneer PC-CD1 serial port link kit as well. OEL1 (http://www.pioneer.co.jp/car/pclink/index-e.html)

This is for the #500 series only OEL2 (http://www.pioneer.co.jp/car/pclink2/dl-e.html)

This is for the most recent Pioneer releases like the 8600 and 7700 and the P80 OEL3 (http://www.pioneer.co.jp/car/pclink3a/index-e.html)

Enjoy :D

P.S. I really wish Pioneer would make a .lkd converter so that all the OELs would be interchangeable.
