<a href="http://www.newcelica.org/other/dyno/index.htm" target="_self">Here's</a> the NewCelica.org dyno section, which includes runs with and without the butterfly valve.

I haven't done it (I don't care that much about 0.1hp), but it supposed to be almost trivial to remove. And I don't think the dealer has any legitimate reason to deny a warranty based on butterfly valve removal, unless you decided to drop a monkeywrench into the engine while removing it (you won't, the air filter's in the way).

i doubt the dealer will do anything.

just tear that sucker out. you don't even need to take apart the entire air box. i loosen it up and pry open the cover, and yank out the valve. OLD SCHOOL.

the dealer will not do anything, well at least the one's i have been to. the tech. guys usually take a second look at the car when its shut off, cause it make a loud hiss from the intake area. but i have had little things done to my car and everything is a ok(warrenty included). its not that hard to reinstall if they have a problem.:)

I removed the butterfly to satisfy curiosity and bought an Injen CAI a few weeks later. All the removal did was push me to add a CAI. They're cheap (check the site store), the HP gain is acceptable, the look is cool when the hood's up, and the sound is very cool.

Butterfly removal is easy and the end result is worth it, but only for a short term. You'll want a CAI eventually.
