I always hear that, but I don't understand what the point of it is. Is it the same idea as putting cardboard under a table leg thats shorter than the rest?

uh... isnt that what bolts are for? and how is "tape" strong enough to hold a kit in place when your driving 80 mph on the highway? Its not a stupid question.

well you dont really want a bolt sticking out the side of your car... you use tape on the pieces that arent on the ends or hidden under the car... like you know sideskirts that come up the side of the car... its best to put tape between the skirt and the side panel so that you dont have a huge gap sticking out

That "tape" is really strong....you obviously have never dealt with 3M acrylic stip adhesive (thick grey stuff with red peel-away backing). You have to use "tape primer" on the body first, then apply the tape. And buddy, once its down, that sh!t won't ever come up even for jeebus himself. It bonds really strong. I noticed when I put on my WW kit, I didn't really even need the screws inside the fenderwells, it was on that solid, although I put them in anyway just to be safe. Hell - I've heard of people attaching rear wings the same way - with only the 3M tape. I'd be too afraid I'd loose the wing at 80-100 mph, though.

Thanks man. Thats the kind of response i was lookin for. Your right, i have never used this kind of tape before so thats why it must have seemed like a stupid question. So if this tape is hard to get off, then i shouldnt put it on my front bumper since i need to take it off to clean my CAI. Thanks!
