i was just wondering about the GT/GT-S emblem on the back trunk, is it a stick on or an actual emblem that has hole marks on the back that makes it stick to the trunk?

its stuck on with some glue...
if you want to remove it...just get a heat gun or hairdryer and some floss...then after just get some windex to wipe away the left over glue.

use rubbing alcohol to help remove the leftover sticky stuff from the paint on your car....ive seen alot of people scratch the paint bad and u can tell where an emblem used to be...so just take your time....its an easy job

I unbadged the Toyota emblem using hair dryer, dental floss. Left the GT-S badge on there. Prolly remove it soon.
But on my previous 00 GT, I debadged both the Toyota and the GT badge. Looks much cleaner.

Heat the badge up real good with a hair dryer set on hot and then when it starts moving a bit, I used a string of dental floss and put it in between the badge and the body of the car, then swipe across. You can use a fishing line, but did not have any at the time.
Yea, WD40 works good on the excess goo. I sprayed it on the towel and then rubbed it on the goo.

WD40 or Goo Gone. Also, take the car out for a bath.

That will buff out easily with a soft terry cloth and some rubbing compound.

I recently swapped my toyota emblem with a trd badge and I had it even worse than you on that foggy outline action. I tried goo gone first and it got rid of all of the glue, then I tried using rubbing compound on the outline but it didnt really do much and it was starting to wear the clearcoat down after the third application, I was using a power buffer too so that probably wasnt a good thing to do. Eventually I went to the dealer and got some CB touchup for my car and it did the trick however I wouldnt recommend filling in a large area with touchup. Instead I just dabbed around the outline then buffed it and it came out ok.
My best guess is that the foggy outline is corrosion caused by dirt and other things that get trapped in the gaps for long periods of time and gradually wear down the paint.

i know exactly what you mean, but the thing is that my car is black and now its kinda hard to see the toyota and GT sign so i guess its ok now, i remember when i bought my car from carmax, they had stupid stickers on it like the toyota and gt emblems, i removed it however and it looks just like the leftovers from the emblems, then after a while it just went away...kinda weird but true. btw is their anyway to replace the little grill piece that holds the toyota emblem on the front of the car? i want to get rid of it and just put a plain black grill on it, i dont like my emblem, its gold :(
